Excellent boots

I've been in the army for 16 years and these are one of my two favorite boots, the other ones I like they don't make anymore so this is it for me! I have bad feet and protruding heel bones and these boots have definitely lived up to my expectations. I've used two pairs of these already and I'm just going to stay with them.

For years I struggled to find a boot that measured up to the Oakley Assault boots I so loved. After the Army changed uniforms I bought a pair of Altama Swat Foxhounds and was very pleasantly surprised! The break in period was about two days and the ankle support these boots provide is excellent. Thus far the only drawback I have noticed is that the soles of these boots do not lend themselves to traction in mud. Bottom line: near-Oakley quality at a fraction of the price!

Order your regular shoe size, they'll have a 1/2" of room for your toes.

UPDATE: been wearing these for quite sometime now including overseas and on very rocky terrain. They've been in water, fuel, sand, dirt, mud and perform very well, they don't let rocks in like others stated so long as you actually tighten them. They are still comfortable for everyday use and were good for about 5 hours of alot of standing, if you have good posture, your heel will be the only thing in slight discomfort after really long periods of wear. I love them and will purchase again whenever they finally wear out. Boots are a nice dark coyote brown and are AR 670-1 compliant. Great support and no break in period required. Nice speed lacing and breathable material. For the price there's not much better on amazon.

The fit & comfort are excellent. I would buy again

I've worn the Altama brand in the past. The fit & comfort are excellent. I would buy again. One suggestion; Increase the length of the boot-strings by 4 to 6". The boot-strings come out of the top two (2) eyes when removing the boots. Thus impacting the speed-lacing feature.

Very comfortable. New favourite boot.

These boots are very comfortable, light weight and have great traction in the snow and on ice. My feet have stayed very warm with a pair of thermal socks. No wet or damp feet so far. They seem to breathe well. They appear to be very well made. Fit try to size. Highly recommend

Boots are very comfortable, even while running. Only issue I have is some if the stitching is cut and pulling out where the sole wraps onto the toe of the boot. The sole isn't pulling away from the boot at this time. Even with this issue I will buy these boots again just based on the comfort of the boots.
