Work Well for Property/Land Use!

I received the Amazon Basics Nylon 12 Inch Eye Pre-spliced Dock Line - 3/8 Inch x 15 Foot (9mm x 4.5m), Black (Black). This is decent line to use around my yard. I know this is dock line, but I needed about 15 feet of line for property use and this is working out very well. I'm happy wit this line.

Amazon Basics 'dock-line' rope.

As someone who does a bit of Canadian canoeing, I thought this might come in handy for tethering a boat if I'm on a trip. It could even be used on a camping trip to string up a tarp.At 27' long, its plenty long enough for most jobs and the diameter is not too thick for it to be unsuitable for for situations where you might usually use thinner paracord. All in all, a handy bit of jit for all sorts of outdoor activities.

Good quality everyday rope!

A short but stirdy piece of rope that's worth the money - used for some outdoor stuff. Quite happy with it (and the quality of it all).

Strong enough for the task

This is currently advertised as shock-load absorbent, but with the shunting I did on this line I didn’t think it was that absorbent. However, it still suited my needs for lashing. The rope is more than strong enough for a simple mooring and I am unlikely to reach the breaking strain of this on a canal, even on the stormiest of days. The splicing on the eye extends back onto itself for about 20cms and the whipping is strong and secure. The whipping on the end of the line is via a plastic sleeve – presumably heat shrunk with the end melted to prevent unravel. All in all it is a good line with more than adequate strength to secure a load or small canal boat. Can’t comment on value for money as this is a pre-launch product.

Light, strong, dries quickly.

I chose this, not for a boat but for a sea proof leash to enable our dog to be able to enjoy the beach this year. He doesn’t get off the lead at the beach as he tends to eat people’s picnics, but he loves the sea. Last year the leash we used didn’t last long due to the salt water. This dock line is marine-grade nylon, and it can withstand sun, salt water, normal lake water, and won’t rot or go mouldy. It is super strong, so I know our dog is safe. Paired with a marine grade carabiner it is perfect. This will make him and us very happy at the beach this year.

Surprisingly good line from an unexpected company

This line is a good quality with very little flex and a soft feeling. The 12 inch eye is well secured and the splice travels back about 6 inches and should hold tight on any small boat. The outer sheath can move up to about 2mm on the inner nylon which is pretty good in my experience. Overall it’s an impressive line and being pre-spliced makes it a good buy in my opinion.
