Does the job
The auto setup feature did not work for me, even though my brand (Frigidaire) was listed in the directions, however the manual setup did. An easy, inexpensive way to replace a lost air conditioner remote.

The buttons don't match what is printed on them, and not all functions work, but it does what I need
I bought this for an Everstar that I had lost the remote too. I tried all 3 codes for Everstar and they kind of worked, some better than others. I settled for one that came the closest to the labels on the remote and did the basic things I wanted: turn it on to cooling, turn on just the fan to slow/med/high, and turn off. None of the other setting really worked like turbo, dehydrate, temperature changes, or oscillation, but I can live without those. Unfortunately, it uses coin cell batteries (it comes with some already in it), so you can't use rechargeables. It also doesn't have a very good range, probably good enough for a bedroom, or small living room, but not for across you garage, or from the kitchen across to an ac on the opposite wall of a living room. Even though they aren't listed, I also tested it with a Delonghi PAC A110 (did not work) and an Atwood 15027 (did not work) out of curiosity.

Must reprogram when batteries die
Good: When this is programmed it works well and is a good value. Bad: When the batteries die and you replace them, you also need to reprogram the remote. Suggestion: Write the programming code on the back of the remote with a sharpie marker. Otherwise: Go to your order on amazon, look up the remote, scroll down and look for the pdf on the remote which will show the programming instructions and the codes.

Works wonderfully with my Frigidaire window AC.
Thank you to everyone that reviewed this product to date, it helped me decide in this remote as the best bet for my Frigidaire window AC. Also, it helped me worked through a couple of quirks that it has. As a thank you I want to include what I figured out by playing with my remote in case it’s helpful to anyone else. I just have begun to use this so this is based on a review of it out of the box. If any flaws show up over time, I will update my review. You can follow that button explanation looking at included photo of that remote. To program you hit the set up button and wait until it’s solid red then let go. Then you enter the appropriate code. For me the first Frigidaire code (1654) worked perfectly. It immediately turned the unit on and off. I can adjust the temperature setting using the arrow up and down buttons. I already knew that the medium fan button was a problem. The way around it is to consider the slow and high buttons and arrow down and arrow up buttons for the fan setting. So the slow will take the strength of air down (from high to medium to low) and high takes it back up (low to medium to high). Think of the ‘mode’ button as the ‘cool’ button. It takes you to cool setting on the AC. For fan you hit the fan button. With fan you cycle through speeds, as mentioned above, using slow and fast buttons. For ECON you hit the ‘saver’ button. For auto you hit the ‘auto’ button. If you hit the auto button again it will take you to the lowest setting on the fan, hit it again and it goes back to auto. For timer you hit the timer button and then hit the temp/time up or down button to change the time. Hit ‘cancel’ to get out of this mode. Sleep setting options is the ‘sleep button. Directions are clear and straightforward. There are some consistent variants to the functioning of the remote that it would be good if Anycommand would change the directions slightly. But, in truth, I’m thrilled to have a functioning remote at this price! At under $10, it’s a bargain and so far well worth the price. Hope this was helpful! Thanks again to all who helped me with their info. :)

Limited Range but works on an old Frigidaire AC
I bought a house with an aging AC unit that I know I'm going to need to replace in a year or two. It's built into the wall above a door frame though and didn't come with a remote. Frigidaire doesn't even sell the model anymore and now sells a different model with its number so I couldn't get a manufacturer remote. I said a prayer and bought this one. It's range is very limited (maybe 5 feet tops) but it does work without my having to climb up on a ladder so it serves it's purpose and I'm glad to have it when I need it. It was also inexpensive enough to not mind investing in it for use for only one or two summers before I replace the unit. Not all the buttons do what they say they will but they work consistently so it wasn't hard to figure out what to push to do what I wanted it to. Overall a good value for something that makes my life MUCH easier.

A Decent Replacement.
I bought this for a 12,000 btu Arctic King AC that was a year old that a neighbor was selling. Great deal on AC, but he had lost the remote. An exact replacement was almost $20, but trying to be cheap, I went with this one instead. It would not program using either of the codes provided for this brand, but there is an option to let this remote attempt to make contact. This worked for me. This remote works all the needed functions on my AC. But like almost all generic replacement remotes, it won’t match the quality (in most cases) or the functionality of the remote provided originally with your unit. Here, some buttons are not labeled for correct functions on a few things. Other buttons work as labeled. While this would be highly annoying on, say, a tv remote, Here it’s just an AC remote, it’s easy enough to figure out without ruining your life. For me, it works to the point I am not remorseful that I did not splurge for an original replacement. If that’s all you need, this is recommended. It also comes with a battery. This is great, because it is one of those flat round ones that while not usually hard to find, chances are you won’t have one just kicking around your house.
