Not at all what I was expecting. I'm a parent trying to help my child learn to tell time on a clock and have a better concept of time. This product is a complete waste of money. It is a box of flashcards with random classroom based questions and the "activities" are classroom based, such as asking for 12 kids to stand in a circle and clap. The beginning of the set is very basic, such as a card showing different clocks and just asking you to observe and discuss them, a card with pictures of people of different ages asking who is young or old, very basic observations. Then there's a card showing a clock with a color code of minutes and hours, similar to what you'd find anywhere, and then it jumps into the majority of cards with one math story problem on each one, asking how much time has gone by in a certain scenario. Nothing you can't find on a single worksheet for free online, with no real explanation or teaching tools included. The majority of the "activities" were the same and classroom based- using a stopwatch to time how long it takes to walk from a desk to the chalkboard, timing how long it takes to write the alphabet and see who wrote it the fastest, put your head on a desk and pick it up when you think a minute is up and see who's the closest. Nothing spectacular, the ideas are limited to 20+ kids sitting in a classroom. Other activities ask for times that certain subjects are taught, or other questions revolving around the class schedule. There's a card listing the calendar months and a card listing the days of the week with not much more revolved around that. I'll give credit to three cards having value- creating a timer with sand and water bottles, creating a pendulum with string and a weight, and shining a flashlight on a globe to demonstrate time zones...although the cards state to use the internet for looking up the instruction and information to teach with no direction to specific websites. So save your money and just do your own internet search for activities. This set won't make your job any easier.
