Nice interior lock.

Pretty easy to install. I will probably pick up another for mounting closer to the floor on the same door for more security on my entry door. One would suffice for any interior door.

Great…… but

First off , this is a great lock. I love how easy it is to use. I do find the screws were too short. & you have to watch which replacement screws you buy because the flat top can only be the same size as the ones it came with it fit in the hole or else it will not work. Take the screw with you to the hardware store

A bit tricky to install perfectly but they work well with our French bathroom doors.

Good product but overpriced

Purchased in September, 2022 for $10.32. Current price is $12.xx. Today product broke. The loop that holds door shut split apart. Both included loops are very thin material. Not usable until I fabricate or find a loop replacement. I’m confused that it says Belwith as product name because the packaging name is Security First. Upon searching for Security First found identical product for less than $8 which is appropriate pricing for item.

Works Well

Used it to secure a Dutch door to keep a baby in. Works well - smooth action. And easy to use if installed properly.

Won’t sit flush for both shackles

China garbage. Need I say more? Ok fine, I’ll explain. I expected the screws to be trash, you know, weak China metal where the Philips head to strips easily. But I haven’t even gotten that far. As you can see in the photos there is two different types of shackles for the slide to lock into. Each type has a design that is to work with whichever side of the door you decide to mount the slide lock to. The bigger shackle is designed to mount to the inside of the door frame and work with the slide if the door opens toward you. The other, the smaller one, is to mount flush on the door frame if the door swings away. Needless to say I need the second option. The problem here is that the slide cannot be securely mounted and screwed flat on the door because the shackle it slides into will not allow it to without coming into contact with the door first. In other words, it’s useless unless I grind off the backside of the shackle so it doesn’t hit the door before I can slide in the lock. The other shackle would work properly but I don’t need that one. The verdict here is… for what I paid it’s worth the modification I’ll need to do. This isn’t a keep a bad guy out of your house kind of lock. It’s more of a keep the toddler out of the pantry type of thing. Two stars because it’s not a heavy duty kind of lock, the least they could have done was engineer the parts to fit right.
