Not very thick materia l
I was disappointed with the thickness of canvas and window material. It was not sturdy like the OEM one I was replacing. BestTop was gracious and accepted a return. In this case you really get what you pay for, so go with the more expensive BestTop for that OEM quality.

Great top but slow Bestop customer service and TERRIBLE rebate fulfillment company
I bought this from Amazon because of the $100 rebate and Prime shipping and Amazon did a pretty good job -- a little late but they made it right. I had a BestTop Sailcloth Replace-a-top in spice color on my Jeep but decided I wanted to change to black once I noticed the old top aging and some of the seams starting to come unthreaded. The overall quality of the top was very good so I wanted to replace it with another one. The top was pretty easy to install but the header install left way too much sag between the header and middle bow. It flapped in the wind and rain would pool on it. That didn't happen on the last one. NOTE: This is NOT the fault of the top -- rather the installer (me). It turns out it's NOT intuitive at all and the instructions leave a lot to be desired. Bestop's video is good but goes a bit too fast on the most important part of the install -- at the header. The trick here... pay attention... is that you lay the plastic strip of the top face up on the header bar with and you will ROLL the top OVER it and over the header. DO NOT pull the plastic around and put it face down... or "double" it to take up the slack to make the seam match. I watched the video 5 times before it made sense. I tried to contact Bestop twice and got absolutely no response. That's the one star deduction. They did eventually respond and asked for pictures. Once they got them of my "bird bath" version of the top, they told me exactly what I did wrong. And they were right! There was also a small issue with regard to fit with the side windows attaching at the bottom. The "sail panels" in the back do not allow the sides to easily fit their plastic strips in the same space. I think that will work itself out over time, however. NOTE: After a little over a week, they're fitting better. I added zipper pulls to the side windows right away. They tend to make installing the side windows easier. I've edited this review from my previous 3-star review because, in the end, it all worked out and it IS a high quality top. Bestop took 6 days to respond to me via email. Would I buy again? Probably. Do you need their customer service? Probably not if you just do it right the first time. UPDATE: 10/6/2015. I'm updating this review because of issues with the rebate. Bestop extols the wonderful capability of their warranty company (they don't service the rebate claims) but I've had nothing but issues and while I just got my check (months later), it came with a note that basically said, "call us before you cash it... it might bounce." Bestop's response: Still waiting for one. Back to 3 starts for this because the company doesn't stand behind their rebate program.

Exceeded expectations, still not the 'best'
Overall, compared to the experience some others had with a bestop replacement top, I'd say my experience is pretty good. My last top was from the factory and lasted since 2002, so I was not eager to replace it. According to research, this top was the best option, however, many reviews stated it was far too loose, esp side to side. When I received it, I was prepared for the worst. We've all seen those Jeep's driving down the road with awful saggy soft tops, after all. Fortunately, with my expectations so low, I was pleasantly surprised. Front to back, it is almost perfect. Nice and tight, but I don't have to hulk out to secure it. Side to side, it is indeed fairly loose. Not so much that you can tell by looking while it's parked, but when I drive, the windows flap about and balloon quite a bit. It is very noticable, but not a deal breaker. The rear window is quite warped on the sides due to improper fitment, but it does not look as bad as it sounds. Just wrinkly, and you can forget about it easily. As for the install, the top does not perfectly match the original equipment. There are not as many screw holes in the bestop for the head latch as there were in the original top. As such, it gave the feeling it was not very secure, and looks slightly unsecure too, with the seam rising ever so slightly above where the head latch meets the windshield frame when the top is on. However, after a hundred or so miles, it has held so far. There was a minor imperfection in the snaps for the rearmost bow as well, the farthest left button being sewn too close to midline, and having to be pulled on for several several minutes before it stretched far enough to button up. My final critique is in the zipper of the rear window. It is quite difficult to zip due to the way it is sewn. It is hard to describe, but the fabric is too loose for the zipper, and I can't help but feel as though I may accidentally tear it when unzipping, despite copious amounts of bestop zipper lube.

Bestop Sail Cloth top seems very durable and easy to install
I purchased this Jeep TJ with a hardtop and the hardware for a soft top was included, The hardtop came off immediately and purchased the Bestop Spice w?tinted windows to go topless. I purchased it from Amazon knowing I'll get it fast and I did but top came in a repackaged box Bestop rolled up no directions I unboxed it rolled it out noticing grease marks on the spice top, rolled out the windows they looked good I figured this was a return and I'm getting someone else's problem product. Not to concerned because I have Amazon Prime. I cleaned off the grease marks and sat the top in the sun for a few hours to warm up to stretch per Bestop video instructions, installation was a breeze, Installing back window one zipper was missing a pull string to pull zipper so I used my finger to push the zipper just to finish the installation I will let jeep sit out in the sun to straighten out the few wrinkles but otherwise this top fit Great As of now I'm very happy with my new Bestop Soft Top. Ill deal with the small issues with Amazon or Bestop shortly.
