Purchased to make baby food; also good for adult food
We purchased this to make purées of things for homemade baby food for our children, mainly because blending in the pot made more sense than setting up the standing blender every time. This is especially helpful when there are multiple dishes; it's nothing to give the blending head a quick rinse and then get back to work. There is also a bit more control because it's a lot easier to see the consistency of the blended product. Once we did that, our children moved to solid foods, but we still use this at least once a week. We make all kinds of blended soups, various fruit purées for desserts, and any number of sauces and things that have large bits mixed in but need a smooth consistency. We have not used the food processor, masher, and whisk attachments very much compared to the stick blender, but we've found it to be worth it for the stick blender alone, even if we never use the other attachments.

I got this for soapmaking. I've never used one before so I have nothing to compare it to however I feel like the motor gets hot too quickly. It's kinda bulky for my hand and I wish it had 3 settings instead of just two. It's easy to clean. Cuisinart Art was the recommend brand but I couldn't justify paying that much money when Braun is a reputable brand. So far so good.

Probably the best of the Immersion blenders, "but"
For years I've been using these blenders to make protein drinks. I started with Braun. It last quite a few years before it broke. I replaced it with another well known and popular brand which I never liked because it was too heavy. I replaced it with a less expensive unknown brand which I really liked, partly because it was lighter and it was easy to use, but a small plastic part broke after a couple of years. I just bought this "new" Braun, but they've changed it; it seems heavier and I don't like the release button for the blade - I have arthritis and it's more difficult than it needs to be. You know the old saying "why fix it if it ain't broke?" Why don't companies listen. This is not an improvement on the old product!

Braun continues to be quality
This is a much sturdier design than our original Braun. We made our own baby food for now adult kid. The durability of the last 80s 90s was unbelievable, just retired this year, so being loyal to a trusted brand was a large part of the decision. Materials are sturdier design refined and cleaning a snap. 2 speed is a great addition.

I have been wanting an immersion blender for some time. I saw the review on the Cook's Country, tv show and finally bought the one they recommended. It is perfect! Easy to use and it does a great job. You will not go wrong with this one.

I don't know why i didn't buy one sooner. Made Thanksgiving cooking so much easier. Small and easy to clean and move on to the next! Took a star off for the cheap plastic feel of the connection. But hoping it will last

Great value, doesn't overheat.
I bought this because NY Times recommended it as a "budget friendly" immersion blender. The lower price does come with a sacrifice in performance but I knew that getting into this and was happy to compromise and save quite a lot of money. I'm happy with the product, it's powerful, easy to clean, easy to use, the cord is long, it doesn't overheat or smell bad after using for 20 minutes straight. The only reason for four stars is because the whisk attachment definitely falls short in performance. Unless you're using the plastic container that came with the product, the whisk is too small to get you very far. The whisk is flimsy, made from very thin metal. The plastic container that comes with this scratches really easily when using the blender attachment. I have reason to believe I shredded small bits of the plastic into my food. Just don't use the container that comes with it. Plant some scallions in there on your window sill instead. I didn't buy this for the whisk or the plastic container so the immersion blender is fine but perhaps sell the blender solo for slightly less money if the extras aren't of the same quality. Those are unnecessary considering I won't be using them based on their performance. You can make smoothies with this, it works better than my Osterizer. You can make custard and gravy and bechemel sauce in a hot pan over the stove top with this without damaging it. IMPORTANT MAINTENANCE TIP: Use a toothbrush with dish soap to clean the blender blade! All blenders need to be cleaned with a small brush. It's the best thing you'll ever do for a blender.

Awesome, super useful
I have arthritis in my hands and love to cook. Chopping it now a dream, haven’t used many of the other devices. Easy to clean, I really like the stainless steel head. I had the original model, it lasted for 25years +

Love it!
I had another brand and it burnt out within 3 uses over a month period. It was more expensive too. This one is powerful and comfortable to use. Very sturdy though.

still going after 1.5 years with some issues
Ive been using this immersion blender semi frequently (usually a few times a week). for 1.5 years now. the immersion blender attachment and motor are still going strong without any issue, along with the whisk. The other accessories on the other hand are not holding up well. the mini chopper and blending cup have both managed to crack over time. the cup ends up in the dishwasher semi regularly so that may have done it, the chopper on the other hand has been hand washed exclusively. That being said i still use all the accessories, with a bit of caution around liquids in the cracked ones.
