Cost-effective to use

Washing by hand is a matter of personal experience and experience. The usability is relatively strong, and the wear resistance is also good for intercepting fish feces. The disadvantage is that it needs to be washed every two days.

Works well

This is the first filter sock I have ever had. I used these when starting up my new 90gal saltwater tank. Thus far they have worked well. As for cleaning I just ring them in hot tap water several times and then let them air dry. Aquarium purists will ding me for using tap water and not RODI water, but I haven't had any problems. Each sock will last about 2-4 days depending on feeding and bio-load. When they are extra dirty I soak them in hot water with a little bleach and they whiten up amazingly. I then rinse them several times and let air dry for a few days. Ensure there is no bleach smell before putting back in the tank. Chlorine bleach will evaporate and I have had no ill effects from bleaching. I would buy again if I needed more. Oh, and buy at least 2 so while one is cleaning/drying, the other is in the tank. I may get a few more so I don't have to clean them immediately after removal from tank.

Not bad, definitely budget socks

The actual sock material is of good quality, with good seams. However they're very long.. be sure they fit in your sump. Also, the ring itself is a pretty loose fit in my 4" filter sock holder. They sort of float around, letting some water pass around or under the sock which isn't ideal. However I still use them, and they work pretty well. **Pro Tip** If the socks are a bit too long for you, do what I did - I cut them to length, then hot glued new seams. Works great and doesn't fall apart when cleaning!

Easy to clean

I tried these when it was time to replace my old, old felt socks that had seen better days. So far I’m impressed. They are easy to clean with a pressure washer, in the machine or even with a kitchen sink sprayer. The weave of the fabric also makes it easier to shake out stray amphipods that find their way into the socks. I will be getting more!

Good enough quality for the price

The quality of these isn't quite as good as some others I have, but they do the job. They are just a little bit smaller and not quite as durable, but good enough for the price.

Ring is not well made. Broke when i was tightening the scews. Socks were great though.
