This adapter works great!
This meets the need for our camper trailer but it would be great if it came with better directions on a variety of mounting options. Our van has a bumper and hitch that ride low to the ground which makes this mounting plate ride too low as well creating a profile that is way too easy to bottom out with.

Good Quality and Easy Install. Recommended.
I installed in the bumper of a 2012 Ford E350 with no issues. Seemed pretty sturdy and well made. Wiring up and install was easy and the bracket seems decent but i did not need nor use it. The lights always light up when you do any function such as turn on the headlights, break or use the turn signals and is a complaint of some but does not bother me. Recommended buy in my book.

Ground wire not connected
I was amazed to see that the white wire (the ground wire) on the 4 pin plug was not actually connected to anything. It was inserted into the split loom tubing, as shown in the photo. You are required to use the large white wire for grounding. Just for pulling a small trailer, one ground wire should be enough, simply because that's all the trailer has anyways. I just thought this seemed kind of crappy to hide the unused wire like this. I had to run an extra ground wire inside the vehicle because I didn't want to drill a hole into the vehicle to get a good ground connection.

Totally awesome
I have been searching for a 7-way blade that had the lights for a while. TAKE NOTE: THE TOW-READY BRAND AND HOPKINS BRAND 7-WAY DOES NOT HAVE TEST LIGHTS EVEN THOUGH THE PICTURE CLEARLY SHOWS IT DOES. I know this because I had to purchase and return BOTH of them for not having the lights. The other reviewer said that there were no instructions... yes, that is correct. But guess what - there are TEST lights on the front of the adapter... who needs a wiring diagram? Just touch the wires together until they light up accordingly... that's exactly what I did. Took me about 30 minutes - it was a breeze. The adapter and harness are both very solid, too. Much more solid than the Hopkins or Tow-Ready.

4 flat to 7 round RV trailer style plug
Very easily added to system. If you mount bracket to rear cross frame member on a Jeep use a sharp extremely hard steel cutting bit! Then follow with the correct sized equally rated mounting screws.

Works good, bit of flex when inserting trailer connection
Supplied this to the mechanics who installed while doing my hitch. Figured they were gonna be under car anyway. And they only offered flat 4 pin. Working great when properly installed. I find I need to hold the bottom in place while pushing in the RV blade as it requires some force and its only bolted to frame on top side.

It works but its visual LEDs isn't good in real world usage...
Shipped fast and easy install. I love this product because the back on the 7-pin connector is factory molded / factory sealed. Thus, keeping road crud / salt out of its inner pin area - which is a risk of corrosion area (on other similar products). Its 4-pin connector is factory molded as well. Its many different LEDs allow one to see if all wires are connected properly and "all is good" from its view. I love this product feature. Usage Tip / next design tip #1: My electric brake controller (Reese unit) sends a "low volt / test pulse" down its blue wire - to sense if a trailer is connected. The "brake" LED sees this test pulse and does a faint flash. This is a great visual test as well. However.... Because the LED bulb lights up (even with a faint flash), my Brake Controller thinks a trailer "is" connected. Even though NO trailer is connected. For next product design, recommend ALL LEDs except for the blue wire / brake controller pin LED be used. Brake Controller LED should not be included in its next product design. Usage Tip / next design tip #2: The 12v "+" live pin is always on (which is a good test light). However... A few people have already walked behind my vehicle, seen its lit up LED light (on its 12V live pin) and asked if this light should be ON. And, will this "always on" light drain the vehicle battery? See below for picture of this always on "12 volt" live wire. Perhaps next design can have no LED light for this pin - since most people wire this pin directly to vehicles "+" battery post. Update: After many different people walking behind my vehicle asking if this red LED light should be on (for its 12V "+" pin), applied liquid black electrical tape over this LED. LED is still on but its now covered up (under the black tape surface).. No more bright LED can be seen behind my vehicle and people asking me if that LED should be on. Next time I buy a 7-pin female, I would order similar 7-pin connector by Curtis but "with out" its visual test LEDs. Sometimes, simple product is better....
