Very difficult to remove original. **Alcohol/spirits**

This is not so much a review of the new valve cartridge as it works as it should. The removal of the old cartridge proved rather challenging. Much of the valve was completely destroyed to remove. I even heated the cartridge plastic to try and soften the plastic to no avail. I was able to finally drill thru the brass that was exposed after destroying most of the shell and thread a screw into the drilled hole. With this I could use a claw hammer against the brass housing to remove the rest of the cartridge. Not sure if hard water helped glue this in place? Once removed a bit of petroleum jelly on new cartridge and o-rings made for easy installation of replacement after a thorough cleaning of existing housing . **Note** Alcohol was required after the procedure was completed.

one of them worked fine, but the other one leaked

I had bought two of these to replace the cartridges in two showers. They previously had RP46074 installed. Even though this ceramic version was more expensive, I wanted to try it because our city water is hard and it is treated with chloramine (which causes rubber parts to deteriorate over time). One of them worked fine, but the other one leaked when the faucet was in the off position I returned the one that leaked and boughtDelta Faucet RP46074 MultiChoice 13/14 Series Cartridge Assembly which worked. Unless you have a specific reason to get the ceramic version, you may want to try RP46074 first since it is cheaper.

cartridge does not work in delta shower as represented

bought this to replace leaking cartridge, it is a centimeter too wide to slide into the sleeve to replace the leaking one. ended up taking it apart and using the springs from it to get the old cartridge to stop leaking. in the future will only order the parts kit ,

Perfect fit Delta shower valve.

I was surprised that the original started leaking after 18 months but the new one fit and worked good. No problem an easy to install.

Just 2 weeks after it was installed it started leaking this type of valve seat is the worst type of design.

Works Fantastic!

Replaced the old one that was leaking with this one as soon as it arrived. No more leak! Make sure you adjust the temperature setting on the new one, when you receive it. Instructions to do this are inside the box.
