Works pretty well

It works pretty well until you get down to the last cup or so of batter. It def helps with getting the cups evenly filled and without a huge mess. If the batter had flown well for the entire container def would have given it 5 stars.

Wish I had this years ago when I was baking lots of cupcakes. It would have saved a lot of time (and aggravation) cleaning up the cupcake pans before baking

Good product, but handle breaks easily

I loved the product, but the handle has broken on the past two I have owned. I think it weakens over time. One broke in less than a year of owning it.

Other reviews noted problems so I'm using care as I learn to use it properly. The purple slide mechanism that shuts off flow could be contrained with too heavy a batter so I mixed mine carefully to guarantee it would flow. I mixed it in a separate bowl, then poured it into the dispenser. I gripped the handle about midway and realized the power point was lower than my hand. Moving my hand down to the lowest point made the dispensing smooth and consistent. Also I liked holding the unit with both hands...one just for balance and the other to operate the handle. Some folks complained it was hard to clean and it certainly would be if you set it down and eat breakfast while the batter hardens. I took a sec to set it in the sink and let water run in, then dumped it and refilled with a drop of dish soap. When breakfast was done the dispenser was clean. Next time I think I'll try preparing the batter the night before and filling the dispenser to stay the night in the fridge. As long as no batter seeps through the slide I think it will work well. From today's experience I can see stopping the dispensing and going directly to the fridge could cause some batter to dry on and cause problems at the next use. Glad I bought it!.

Great little gadget!

I'm always buying "cooking toys," and unfortunately a lot of them end up being pretty useless and don't do what's promised, so I was a bit skeptical about ordering this one. Based on the reviews I gave it a try, and I'm glad I did - this thing is great! It makes filling muffin tins quick and easy, and surprisingly, when you release the handle, the batter stops flowing immediately - no waiting for the drips to stop. If you have the little electric cake ball or donut or muffin makers, this also works very well with them. I'm very pleased with this item and would definitely recommend it; the only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because of the size: it's just a little bit too small to hold an entire recipe of cake better, so you have to stop and refill it to use up the last few ounces. Otherwise, it's a terrific product.

Great & Functional

I bought this because I have the worst time with making a mess while I make cupcakes. I just hate trying to pour the batter into the pan and not spill and get just the right amount... well Problem Solved! This is perfect for getting the batter right into the little cupcake pan and move on to the next spot with out any mess! It is a neat design with clean disbursement. I am so excited to use it and not waste time. It cleans up easily, stores easily and works great. My only drawbacks are that it only comes in purple and the batter cannot be too thick or you have to help it out by pushing the batter through the hole with a spoon. I am thinking of giving these as Christmas gifts because they are so cool. This really is a great kitchen gadget!

Been using mine for 9 years now!

This is a great tool for the kitchen. I mostly make pancakes with it but sometimes cupcakes. Never any problems. I was looking to see when I bought mine so I could gift the same type to my friends house warming and saw that I bought mine 9 years ago. And still making pancakes with it. Pros: easy to use and no leaking Con: the cleaning up the spout at the bottom is annoying and a little hard to clean. I soak mine to make it easier and use hot hot water. Still I'd buy this again in a heartbeat and will should it ever crap out on me.
