Worked exactly as needed
-Tap seemed to be good metal, sharp cutting edges -I used it in ALUMINUM, so don't have input on using on harder metals at this point -Bit was fine -The combo seemed to be correctly matched/sized -Bolt (for that the hole was tapped for) fit as needed -I gave 5 stars for durability but don't have a long term trial or hard metal result as of this review I would recommend and purchase again

Not bad but the drill bit is very weak
I used this bit and tapped some holes for my laser engraver frame with 2020 V-slot aluminum. I also used the slowest speed at 600rpm on my drill press, but it snapped by the second hole going slow. If I were you, I would have a high-quality backup drill bit. Otherwise, the threading went without an issue, and the tolerance seems good. I was bummed about the drill bit, but I had backup bits, so it wasn't a huge deal.

Good product
Good tap n die set. If you know how to use it correctly you can use it numerous times. 10/10

They work great together
The bit and the tap are both good. Keep in mind the bit is "general purpose" and not high grade for drilling hardened/stainless steel. You can, but expect it not to last even with care. I'm using them to drill and tap diecast cars so the material bites into ZAMAC (the alloy diecast used in model cars) fairly well. Just be sure to lubricate during drilling/tapping. Be gentle with the tap when removing. Don't be fooled - Any little bit or flex or torsion will snap them, I should know. This is my second purchase. Anyone trying to use this 'general purpose' grade drill and tap with hardened metals will be disappointed. Don't let those reviews fool you. Softer metals, plastic and hardwoods are a breeze if you have patience. If you have hardened metals / stainless steel to tap and drill, buy more expensive (purpose built) carbide bits. Know the Rockwell hardness of your metals and purchase bits/taps accordingly.

Worked well until it broke.
I tapped 26 - 6mm holes ln 1/4 in galvanized posts on the 27th and last hole the tap tip snapped. I was able to get it out and finish the job with the broken tap. So it completed the job. I was using three in one oil for tap oil so that may have caused the problem. I did find I had to run the tap in the holes twice to get the 6 mm bolts the thread in properly. I got the job done so I guess it was okay.

Poor Quality
I bought several of these as I recognize that tapping 2-56 threads is tricky and taps break easily. However, I expected to cut more than 2 threads deep without breaking a tap. The problem may be that the supplied drills (all of them) are the wrong size for 2-56 threads. The drill should be a #50 (.0700) but what comes in these kits is something between a #51 and #52. These might work in soft metals like aluminum but are totally useless in steel. My experience with Chinese tools is that they are either reasonable quality and well priced or total junk. These are definitely in the junk class. I have ordered replacements from an industrial supplier who sells US and British tools. They cost 3 times as much but end up being cheaper in the long run.

Absolute Garbage
Update: Read first review underneath but I went to princessauto and got a drillbit for $1.49 that did the whole project with no issue. Tried this tap and it was just as bad as the drill bit, had to go buy a different tap as well. DO NOT BUY! Drill bit is weak and can't drill through anything. I didn't even get to use the tap yet because the drill bit is the worst quality I have ever seen and broke almost immediately. Read the other reviews, many people had the same problem, I shouldn't have ignored all the problems that were listed. Complete waste of $8, DO NOT BUY!! YOU WILL REGRET IT IMMEDIATELY!!

Tap is larger than claimed #2-56
Bought to drill #2-56 threaded holes in plastic. After drilling the hole with the supplied bit, it's the right size. After threading the hole with the tap, genuine #2-56 bolts just slide right through. Measuring the tap with a caliper, it's about 20% larger in diameter than it should be, despite being marked #2-56. I'm returning it.
