Great for Minimal Usage

Have had for almost a year. Pros: easy to clean, affordable Cons: stops running after about an hour of use - have to let it sit for a day before I can use again. And it’s noisy. I have my own Keto ice cream recipe and have not tried anything in the manual. Overall, if you’re looking for cheap and temporary, I’d recommend this but not for heavy use or long-term. Note: you have to put the bowl in the freezer for this to work the ice cream base properly. All the liquid inside the bowl needs to be frozen.

Buyer Beware - Didn't come with a manual - Update: Broke on second use

Second Update: I am raising the review a couple of stars - not because the product is any better (it isn't any better) but because Amazon customer service was great and took back my broken unit without the original box and gave me a full refund. I am giving the product 1 star and Amazon's customer service 5 stars on this one. Update: I got around to using the unit the second time and it broke the second usage. The paddle is way to fragile to handle the ice cream when it starts to thicken. Changing to one star because that was money wasted. Original Review: I got this unit because I wanted to start making my own sugarless ice cream with honey or other natural sweeteners. The size was ideal since I don't have tons of space for large appliances. I got the unit and the box was not taped shut but it didn't look used so I didn't send it back, however, it was missing a manual and I just assumed that the instructions on the side of the box were accurate. It misses the rather critical step of needing to freeze the bowl overnight which I didn't realize until the ingredients were already mixed together. I ended up having to leave the bowl in the freezer overnight and the ice cream came out rather icy. Either I did get a unit someone sent back without the manual or the quality control when boxing the unit isn't good. Either way I am frustrated with the outcome. I am grateful it was just my nephews I was making the ice cream for and they were ok with vanilla "icees". I found the manual online but just be aware that you shouldn't trust the box. Read the instructions online if you don't also get the manual. I think the ice cream probably would turn out ok if make properly so I am keeping the unit for now.

No manual or recipe booklet

It was simple to set up, simple to use, and easy to clean. Like many people stated, there was no manual or recipe booklet enclosed. The box does have a couple of photos showing the process, but never states to freeze the bowl for several hours ahead of time. For first time users, this might not be an obvious thing to do. The manufacturer needs to make sure the informational manuals and recipe booklets are included in every box, not just a few boxes on the assembly line.

A wonderful addition to our arsenal

We LOVE this thing and with 3 ice cream fanatics in the family it gets used hard!! The book has several recipes, only one we have tried was bad(I think it was the Oreo one, called for 10TBSP of vanilla and my husband went with it, Gross. It was WAY too much). It works great, easy to clean, effective in making our creamy concoctions come to life.

Easy to use and clean

Makes delicious ice cream. Important to have the ingredients already made ready to pour and the machine on and already working. Then pour the liquid into the opening. Otherwise, the first pours will freeze before you pou the rest. I also learned not to leave the cooler part in the freezer for more than about 4 hours or it freezes too quickly. Otherwise, this tool is so wonderful.

It’s okay

Not sure why but it stopped after 30 mins and would not turn back on. After some time it’s working again- but my concern is that the ice cream did not finish mixing. I would think twice before purchasing this product

Works as well as it looks

I bought this freezer and one from a competitor. Both did a decent job of freezing the ice cream. The features that I like about this one are 1) longer cord because my plug is not close to the sink, 2) a see-through lid so I can watch the freezing progress , and 3)there’s a small cap to use after the ice cream is frozen. The only downside so far is that the metal bucket is separate from the plastic one but held together by a screw on the bottom. This may prove to be a problem over time if salt water gets trapped between the buckets.

LOVE IT!

I’ve been making homemade ice cream 2-3 times a week. It’s quick, easy, delicious and most of all it’s healthy! Here’s my low sugar/fat recipe: 1 XL or 2 Sm.Eggs, 1 3/4C 2% milk, 1/4 C H&Half, Tsp Br. Sugar, 1/2 C+ Stevia, 1/2 T vanilla ( or more ) l Mix about 35 minutes. It will be soft but yummy or you can freeze it for a bit. NOTE: Start your freezer ASAP after pouring in your mix otherwise the mix will begin to freeze and the dasher blades will stick. I thought mine had broken … but I figured it out. I’m loving vanilla so far but eventually I’ll get more creative.

Fun for one time use

Was perfect on first try . Broke on second use. Better off purchasing a better quality item this one is all plastic and cannot do the job

Paddle broke 3rd use

It did make great ice cream but the paddle broke after creating the 3rd batch. It split down the shaft of the paddle and can't stir or turn the paddle at all. The paddle is made out of very cheap light plastic. Now I see in other reviews that this is a common issue. Boo! The manufacturer says they won't help people outside of US and won't send me the replacement part.

Terrible, broke on the 2nd try.

Jams and just start clicking, skipping gears as soon as some ice cream starta to form on the sides... Useless and i can't return it.
