Too Many Smaller Pieces, But Otherwise Good for Freezing and Storage (5- Stars)

Over the years, I've switched from ordinary plastic storage containers to glass (like these Pyrex ones) and clear, hard plastic ones (Rubbermaid Brilliance), mostly because I was tired of the staining and pitting. These glass Pyrex containers have the advantage of being non-staining and better when reheating frozen food in the microwave. The downside is their greater weight. They are thick enough so that they probably aren't any more breakable than the plastic Rubbermaid Brilliance. They clean easily in the dishwasher. My main issue with this set -- and that's true of most storage container sets -- is that it contains too many small containers. For me, the most useful pieces are the two 4-cups ones and the 6-cup one -- that's only half of the containers. Those three are more suitable for holding my usual leftover amounts. The Pyrex quality is evident. The tops lock securely in place with a snap of each of the four latches. Once locked, even water doesn't leak when I turn it upside-down. The gaskets are more rigid than those in another brand I own, making them less likely to fall out or loosen over time. I love that the lids are a write-and-erase surface -- no more tape residue. Although it wasn't a surprise that these glass storage containers have mixed shapes -- that's their description, after all -- they don't store as efficiently as all-rectangular containers. My freezer and refrigerator can be a tumble anyway, so it's not a huge deal; however, in the summer, when I'm making tomato sauce, it would opt for an all-rectangle set with at least 4 cups of capacity each. Now that I know that these containers are high-quality, I might just have to get a set like that. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

A wonderful set of storage containers.

These Pyrex Freshlock Containers came very nicely packaged and protected. All of the pieces arrived undamaged. These are very nicely made and robust. The glass is thick and has no flaws or finish issues. The lids also feel robust, but the fold over locking clips use a single thin piece of plastic at the hinge point. My experience with similar lids from Lock and Lock is that the plastic there breaks over time. Hopefully these lids will be better. The lids seal tightly and are leak proof. The set has a good mixture of sizes - from large enough to hold a few days worth of leftovers to small enough for a single serving snack. They nest inside each other nicely for storage. I washed the containers in the bottom rack and the lids in the top rack of my Bosch dishwasher. Everything came out perfectly. All in all... excellent containers - hopefully the lids will hold up.

Quality Pyrex Product

If you have been wanting to switch from plastic storage containers to glass, but didn't want to break the bank this Pyrex Freshlock 14pc Mixed Set is a great place to start. I love pyrex products, they always seem to provide quantity and this starter set will give you a good mix to use while you determine just what sizes you'll need. The snap lock lids are fantastic, giving you a positive lock on close, but still allowing easy removal. The only downside is the amount of space they take up. Since they are glass you have to be careful about stacking them. I purchased some rubber type shelf liner and cut strips to put between them, so in the end I managed to stack them pretty well. If you are on the fence about making the switch from plastic to glass this is the set you want to get to help you decide.

What's there not to like?

I was only able to take the one picture before I realized that me and my husband had already started using all the others for either food storage or getting ready to make something else! These are by far our favorite food storage option in our house. They are very sturdy and feel premium. We did a leak test where we turned our homemade chili updside-down and there was no spillage at all. Now it still feels like glass and I wouldn't recommend dropping it, but overall I would be confident that these would last the test of time versus our other plastic food storage containers. In our opinion this is a must buy.

Amazing quality

These fresh lock food storage containers are amazing quality! I love the heavy duty feel of the Pyrex glass. The lids are great and snap right on with no leaks. I've had similar sets from Pyrex and they lasted forever! They are amazing quality, seal, tight every time, stacked nicely in the refrigerator and are easy to clean. Another great thing is because they're pyrex brand, you know that they're safe to put into the oven. I sometimes make meals for the next day and then stick them in the oven when I get home. 45 minutes later they're ready to eat. I really like the smaller sizes, they are great for meal prepping. I use these every day. I think they perform great. I highly recommend these to everyone and anybody who wants to use glass instead of plastic.

Great Quality

I love these glass containers. They seal well, you can cook in them, they are great in freezer or fridge, and they heat food well in the microwave. I love them. I use them all the time for meal prep.

Variety

These are great for cold storage. I’m happy to get away from plastic containers. This is little p Pyrex soda-lime glass so not for use in the oven or sudden temperature changes. Nice lids that seal tight.

Quality made in the U.S.A.

These containers are so well-made, here in the U.S.A., as stamped on each piece, and look beautiful too for being such utilitarian items. The glass has a hint of green and the lids are clear with red rims, so pretty. The snap sides of the lids are easy to push down with the palms of your hands. The sizing on the smaller containers is a tad small for some of our left-overs, but would make great take-along pieces for lunches and snacks. This is a wonderful set for personal use or as a shower or wedding gift too.
