Ticks Softly, Alarm is a Quiet Beep

The features I like about this charming little clock are its soft ticking (not the rapid, jarring tick of a wind-up clock), and the alarm sound is a reasonably quiet beep, not a blast of a sound that would terrify to wake people. I want a notification, not a loud alarm sound, so this suits me, but may not suit a heavy sleeper. I bought this clock for the ticking sound. I had such a hard time finding a new alarm clock that does tick! This is a soothing sound, not at all loud, as another reviewer says. The clock is simple to set and a compact size that fits anywhere, and nice style. The downside is that it is cheaply made, and may need replacing sooner than I'd like. I'd pay more for a sturdy clock, Equity! Hope they read these reviews.

Cute!

I wanted a cute and small clock for the bathroom shelf and this is perfect. You can hear it ticking though so if it were bedside some may not like that. Perfect for our use.

perfect little alarm clock

My second! The first lasted 10 years or more. Alarm starts soft and gets louder if not shut off. Easy to operate. . like the little light available by pushing on the top. Good buy too.

Perfect for the bathroom even though I don't use the alarm there

It may sound silly but I have always had a clock in the bathroom(s). This one matches the fixtures, is small and highly accurate. No ticking is a plus. Very pleased with my purchase.

Love this little alarm clock!

The minute I opened the package I knew that this little alarm clock was of a higher quality than similarly priced ones. It's very attractive with a nickle case, and it keeps very accurate time. The backlight is better than most others, and the real plus is that the alarm increases the longer it rings until it's a loud constant alarm. Another high point is that it has a snooze button (the same as the backlight button), conveniently placed right on the top of the clock, that goes off with increasing loudness every 4 minutes. The 3" diameter size is perfect for a smaller night table or space. I have no idea why the product description says it is a wall mount clock because it is not.

Not silent, not a sweeping second hand

While the clock looks nice, it is definitely not silent. The second hand is not a sweeping motion and there is a very audible ticking sound.

Old fashioned looking alarm clock, and it ticks!

I love the old fashioned look of the clock, not wind up, though. Has a battery. There are two tiny knobs that change the time and that set the alarm. They come off, much too easily. I lost one that way. So I have to use the one little knob for both functions, moving it from one hole to the other. I am afraid I will lose this little knob and then won't be able to set either time or alarm. But I do really like it anyway. It ticks quite loudly and I really like that because that's how they all used to sound. When I was younger. A clock ticking is a lovely sound and this clock gives you that.

Loud

Not as quiet, as I expected. Also, I thought that it would be shiny and pretty heavy for its size, but apparently it is made out of cheap plastic. Nevertheless, I like the design.

Way too LOUD!

This is a very small clock. It packs a punch for being LOUD! I mean you can hear the ticking outside the room. I don’t know how they got so much ticking sound out of this tiny thing.

Really nice little clock

I've bought a few analog alarm clocks in the past few months, trying to find one I liked. This is my favourite so far. It's small, looks really nice, has a light and a snooze button, and keeps good time. It does tick audibly- the volume of the ticking is about medium compared to some of the others I've had- but I don't mind that.
