Why the Mix?

I am mystified by this set. It seems you either are going to want round filters or square ones -- why mix them together? I wanted the round filters, and this set was cheaper than any other four-round-filter set I could buy, so I figured what the heck, I could throw the square ones away. However, I am using the square ones, which are much smaller, under my round ones, held in place by them. Can't hurt and maybe I am getting twice the protection. So far, these seem to be doing the job perfectly. (I would still prefer a set of eight round filters for this price, or even six.)

Work well with my OGGI compost pail, nice quality

This item was generally true to the product description. The round filter is 6.5" wide. The square filter is 4.75" wide. The round one is thin and the carbon fiber is compact, only about 1/16" thick and the square one is a bit thicker at about ¼" and the carbon fiber is less compact. I was concerned before purchasing that the decent price meant the quality would be less but they seem to be of good quality and are similar in specifications to the originals that came with my compost pail (OGGI, purchased at Bed Bath & Beyond). Also, I was happy to see that all eight came in one package, not four individually wrapped sets. The price is very good, too. One replacement set at BBB is $3.99. Very happy with this purchase.

Charcoal filters for kitchen garbage receptacles.

I have an under-the-counter pull-out garbage receptacle which, despite composting most left-over food, I still have to deposit some smelly stuff in the garbage bin. I affixed a charcoal filter under the kitchen counter where the garbage bin lives and, although it took quite a few days to initially absorb the smells, it has been perfect ever since. The counter-top composting receptacle has never emitted any smell whatsoever. I am highly pleased with this product and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Filter for canister

I was looking forward to having a filter for my compost! The round one should be as thick as the square. I'm disappointed I didn't choose a larger circle. I'm holding the circle in with a cloths hanger.
