Perfect for the shop.
I now have three different tapes, the flat, which is great for measuring things that are not flat. The story pole, just mark the tape and then mark your cut, hard to make a mistake with this one, and the reverse. Still getting used to this one as I have always had to read tapes upside down. The 16’ is great for me in the shop because I seldom measure anything over 12’.

Good
I use this and the 2 other Fast Cap tape measures in my wood shop. I also use the Glu bot and a few of there other products. You can not go wrong with these guys.

Never forget that measurement again
How many times have I been unsure of a written measurement? I have also found myself doing a repeat measurement so many times I lost track of what measurement I was on. Being able to mark directly on the tape measure solved these problems for me. The tape measure itself is well designed. I bought two for different projects.

Good tape measure for repetitive marking.
I like the story pole concept when building items, this helps me reduce waste by Mis-measurement. Over all happy with this fastcap tape measure.

I like the lefty / righty better but there’s a few repetitive cuts I make a lot and this is easy so along with the zillions of lefty righty’s I have I have a few of these they’re good accurate cheap and have a mechanical pencil stand or standard pencil sharpener on the

Great, however.......
This is a great tape measure. The tape is very easy to read, for those of us that have older eyes. The accuracy of the scale is extremely helpful and a time saver. This is the perfect tape measure for fine carpentry, molding, trim, cabinets, etc. However the only reason I could not give it 5 stars, it is a little flimsy. The case is very rugged, however the tape itself it very light weight, and the return (or recoil) spring inside is already not retracting very well, after only one long day of use. This will have to be a second or third tape measure in your tool kit, it is simply not as rugged as a Stanley, and if I was doing work on a roof, or a tall ladder a few drops I would worry would simply ruin it. I fully recommend buying, but it will not replace all of our tape measures, but a great addition.

amazing value and very easy to use
while you can spend 4X more on a Japanese tape measure (I did that, too), for the price, this is an amazingly high-quality and easy to use tape measure — and just as accurate as the $30 one.

Clever and well thought out
I really dig this tape. I often write on my tape measures, but the Story Pole feature is brilliant. It's way easier to see, and you can actually write labels next to the marks, which would be difficult to read on a traditional tape. The momentary trigger lock on the bottom is super intuitive to use, but if I have any gripe, it's that the thumb lock is very stiff to engage, at least on the first few uses.
