Nearly perfect USB-C tail light

It's USB-C. Waterproof. Battery life is good. And the modes are both "someone can't miss this" without getting close to "carve the eyes outta the person behind me to inspire their hate". The button on it sucks; you can't really turn it on and off without swapping modes once or twice. If they made the button suck less on a newer model, I'd buy it. I am in somewhat disbelief that in 2023 USB-C charging is super rare, but here we are.

Good Light

I really like this light. It has more than one mounting option and the mounts are solid. It uses a USB type C charger. It takes about 2 hrs 20 mins to fully charge. It does not support fast charging. I tested the run time on each mode against the manufacturers claimed run times. Here is what I found CLAIMED RUN TIMES: Steady 5 hrs Pulse 10 hrs Courtesy 12 hrs Superflash 15 hrs Turbo ACTUAL RUN TIMES: Steady 3 hrs 45 mins Pulse 13.5 hrs Courtesy 7.5 hrs Superflash 13 hrs Turbo

This is the Super Duper Flash to replace the Super Flash

Now I have always been a fan of the original Planet Bike Super Flash and have a Planet Bike mounting bracket on my active bikes (a folder for the Light Rail commute, and a touring frame urban bike with racks for shopping bag carriers) and transfer the Super Flash from bike to bike. I had just purchased a Super Flash USB, and was looking around Amazon.com when I saw a Rojo 100, and not listed on the Planet Bike Amazon shop. Since I was accessorizing a large heavy and expensive cargo Ebike, with a secondary role for the Bike commute, I thought, $35 isn't too bad a price, and I still had the Super Flash USB if I didn't like it, And as it turns out I really really like it. It is much brighter then the original Super Flash, still has the same Super Flash flash pattern (but much brighter) plus additional flash patterns that are less eye annoying and suitable for daytime running light use. The only real improvements needed would be in the documentation. The usb-c port to charge it, looking from the rear, the bottom rubber cover peels off from left to right (and do this to avoid prying off the rubber cover) And you will need to take off any thick hand gloves before you can get your thumbnail to activate the on/off switch (which also changes flash modes) that's on the top of the device Highly Recommend This !!!!

Bright but very difficult to turn on / change modes

Light arrived today. Charging was straight forward. I'm using the rack bracket mount instead of seat post or seat stay mount. Installed easily. Other reviewers said the light was difficult to turn on. That is an understatement. I had to use the end of my house key to engage the switch. Other reviewers suggest the switch becomes less stiff when usage. We'll see. Otherwise, it does what I want.

Great Design & Function. Exceeded Expectations.

The quality of this was better than I expected for the price, small but bright and the programmed flash functions are good with some "gentle" slow blinks less distracting for riding in a group, and really bright fast & random flashes link an emergency light I use when riding alone at night. I have never fully discharged the battery so I can't comment on that, but the modes I use can easily last 8-10 hours of use. I use it mounted high on my seat post, the mounting hardware is sturdy, and the light detaches by a clip that can attach to a backpack (I do to avoid theft). The only warning is you have to press the rubber button a little harder than expected, this takes getting used to. I think this is actually made in USA not imported. Recommended.

Great light for dry climate

The light is small and bright. While it has 4 different modes, there is no super-low power mode for group rides. In other words, I would not like to ride behind this light. It uses USB C for charging. The charging port is located at the bottom part of the light. While I have not had any negative experience yet, I suspect that water ingress will be a problem due to the location of the charging port and flimsiness of the charging port cover. The power button is quite stiff, at least in the beginning, and there is very little tactical feedback when changing modes. The light comes with several click-type mounts, including a rack mount. In general, I would rate the mounting options as excellent. Bonus points for using cardboard packaging. It is significantly more environmentally friendly than some (most) of the competitors. To summarize, Rojo is a great light, but water ingress is a huge concern.
