Exactly what you are looking for
This is not a shovel or pick-axe, it's an edger. If you use it to make a nice edge, this works perfect. The only downside is the handle. Feels really weak like I could break it with a little force.

If you take your time, maybe stuff wouldn't break
This is a piece of metal...end of sentence, end of story. If you have a piece of metal and put ALL of your force into it going one way while it is jammed against something, chances are it will bend or break. That goes with ANYTHING so, rather than just brute forcing your way...take a breath and remember that not everything requires 100% effort. I am 5'-11", 220 lbs, and used this for a season, and it is in exactly the same shape as it came in. Place the edge to the sidewalk, put your foot on it, lean forward and let gravity take care of the rest, then you can either pull it straight up or wiggle it back-forth until it's freed. It does what it's supposed to do and not once have I felt like I was going to break this. My sidewalks/driveway/back patio are clean and crisp, just like I wanted them to be.

Do not manhandle
I broke the handle on this the very first day I used it. There is a tree not so near the edge of the road and ended up needing to edge through a root no bigger than the thickness of my finger. I gave it a solid thump using my foot on the tread and both hands on the handle, and it just snapped like nothing. I've never had issues getting a broken tool replaced by Fiskars in the past, so I wasn't worried about it other than the inconvenience of having to wait to finish the job. It took a couple weeks, but the new edger showed up without issue. I handed off the job to my nephew and he knew all about the fragility of the handle. Of course he did the exact same thing, except he wasn't even trying to cut through a root. There are none in the area he was working in. I wasn't about to go through returning it again, so I had my neighbor weld a metal bar onto it, which is how a garden tool should come in the first place. (At least a wooden handle) So buyer beware. You should not experience any problems getting a replacement if you do end up breaking the handle, but make sure it's worth the hassle of waiting for a replacement if it does happen. Pros: Light, Ergonomic Cons: Fragile

Great with one flaw, cheap feeling handle
I have a lot of Fiskars products and will continue to buy more. The only concern we have and that I read in the reviews was the handle. The handle is cheap feeling plastic that’s hollow. When putting any weight on the edger, too can see a lot of flex in the handle. As long as you pay attention to that one thing, it works great. I ended up sharpening the edge and cut the sod really nicely.

Just Don't Twist
A great hand edger. Just don't make the mistake I did and do any twisting of the blade; the handle won't take the torque and will break. Fiskars' post-purchase support is awesome, btw. Not sure it's worth the current asking price (over $40), though. Was a much better deal when I bought it about two years ago at under $25. As to the item alone (w/o price consideration) it's pretty good and does the job. Make sure you just do what it's supposed to do and don't make the mistake I did! 4 stars.

4 stars bc it’s not super heavy
Worked great for ending but be careful if a big guy pushes hard it could break. Did do a great job for what I needed

Broke
It tipped over while it was leaning on the shed and the handle shattered. This happened maybe 2-3 days after receiving. Hadn't even used it. I've had garden tools fall plenty of times and never had an issue

Does a good job.
Good product. Completely satisfied. Edged a large lawn with no problem. I would buy again.
