Fixed our problem.

Everything I found said this was my part number but after getting them and taking mine out it was a single element.It ended up good we just switched out one new one for the old one and now I have a spare element

Sure beats replacing the fridge!

Appliance repair tech friend told us ours was shot and to order this. It did the trick - fridge working great now. Love that we could purchase this part on Amazon. Fast delivery, good price.

Genuine GE Part

Could have gotten a cheaper part, that was not OEM, but opted to go with the genuine article, since I had invested all the time to take everything apart. All went as expected and shown in a repair video I found on the web. Part fit exactly and refrigerator is performing flawlessly. Definitely worth the cost!!

Similar but not exact.

The original Heater only had one heating coil not two like the replacement shown here. The model number of the Refer is PSC23SGRCSS GE. What I did was to connect just one of the coils and left the other one not connected. I suppose if I have further problems with the defrost heater I will just disconnect from one and connect to the other. Everything else appears to be identical. The original unit appeared to be burned out inside the glass protected tube. It had inconsistent continuity when I check it with meter.

Well worth time and money

Ships with 2, mine only needed one. Used old holder transferred 1 new evap heater. I did buy defrost sensor as well. Worked great, if your handy it's pretty easy.

Double check before purchasr

Only reason for 1 star is because GE support had the wrong part number for my fridge, which was for 4 connections, but mine has just two. So I ordered what they said, then returned for the correct one, which is working great.
