Buddy Loves His lickimat!!!!!

My dog loves this but there a few things I would like to point out....first, this item was shipped from Ireland and it seemed like an eternity to receive it (longer than two days ????), it was smaller than I expected and my dog bit the corner off after he finished his first helping of peanut butter. I still love it and I have nothing negative to say about the sellers at all! The transaction went smooth. these are just “fyi’s”!

pup loves this licking mat

I use this licking mat to keep my 20 week old puppy occupied while I brush him. I put organic canned pumpkin on it and freeze. My only disappointment is that it is not dishwasher safe or at least the package doesn't indicate that it is ok to put in dishwasher. I use a toothbrush and running water to clean it.

Slows down our fast eater, but...

Works pretty well for our fast-eating cat, though he does like to "hunt" it, by which i mean pick it up in his teeth and drag it around... The wet food really clings to the mat, so it's not as messy as it sounds. And it definitely keeps him occupied, which allows our other other cat to eat in peace! UPDATE: Cat but through the corner of the mat, and swallowed the piece he bit off. V scary!!! If your cat is a hunter-type cat, maybe pass on this one.

Chewed up

My dog loved this. It lasted two days. It is not a chewy toy. Remember to pick it up when your dog is finished.

Other than they can become a little messy to clean, they do what the dogs like and are satisfied with them.

Better than last mats purchased

Ordered two of these as replacements to older mats. Older mats had a problem with discoloration but these new mats seem to have a different, more sense feel to them. They are very beneficial in slowing down how fast my Yorkies eat and have helped in their weight control.

Great product!

Love it! Not made of material to be left when your dog is alone but this is great when I need sometime for homework. Takes him about 3x as long to finish it as a stuffed Kong. He usually takes 15-20 minutes to work it over (when filled with yogurt and frozen).

Depends on temper

This product may be good for a small dog, my 3 month old bloodhound chewed a hole in it trying to get the peanut butter from it. May depend on the temperament of the canine, my bloodhound was one of 16 pups and she had to fight for her turn to nurse. This is still one of her hurdles to overcome

Kept my Staffy busy for almost an hour.

My boys has the attention span of a gnat. He does everything at 100 miles an hour. Being a Staffordshire bull terrier he’s also destroys most toys in minutes. This arrived today and looks really flimsy. I smeared some honey and peanut butter on and set it down. He didn’t move for almost an hour. I sat next to him to supervise in case he did try to chew it but he didn’t. He was happy to sit and enjoy the treat. I’ve spent hundreds on dog toys. He has Nina Ottuson puzzle toys, kong toys, sniffle mats and every other conceivable dog toy. Non have held his interest like this. Easy to clean afterwards too. Best £4 I’ve spent in ages. Came straight back on amazon and ordered four more as gifts for friends dogs.

Great value product that can double up as a new toy!

I wasn’t sure if this would be a waste of money, but for under £4 I thought I’d give it a go! I’m so glad I did - my boxer absolutely loves it! I’ve used it as it’s intended - smearing peanut butter on it and keeping him distracted. But what he’s enjoyed the most is using it as a new toy! It’s tough enough to take him flinging it around and biting it! In fact I put it in the dishwasher and when I went to take it out he stole it straight from the dishwasher and ran around the house with it! So far, so good

Not convinced by this one - dangerous?

Our 9month-old puppy had chewed this badly within five minutes of finishing the treats spread into the lick mat. Small orange bits were coming out in her poos a day later and larger bits were being vomitted up two days later. Dangerous for our dog and I would be extremely wary of leaving with you dog when out for longer periods as the packaging suggested - this happened in only five minutes. A warning that the item is not a chew toy doesn't cut it. Not fit for purpose in my view.

Can't recomend enough, amazing distraction product!

Best thing I've ever bought my dog! He's a terrier type and never stops, he looks for trouble anywhere and he's totally ruled by his tummy. I put some dog peanut butter (Peamutt Butter from PetsAtHome) on the mat, only a small amount as it lasts ages, and put the mat down on the floor and he'll be at it for hours - this is not an exaggeration, the other night he was at it for going on 2 hours until he finished. Kong's take him seconds, he's too smart and will drop them from a height to get food out, toys are destroyed in minutes, this? This is amazing. Ive even got my Greyhound and lurchers having a go and usually they won't bother with anything requiring much effort. It doesn't hurt their tongue at all, it's very soft, none of the dogs have tried to eat the mat itself although the terrier will run off with it if he thinks another dog is interested. Id supervise initial play to start with, but I've left mine with it whilst I'm out and it was an amazing distraction on bonfire night, no barking whatsoever.
