The most challenging review I have done

How do you go about reviewing a piece of foam? I did try writing a song about it but it sounded fake. Mostly because it was my wife who got me to buy this thing for her so the song sounded like those songs Timberlake and other kids write about love, even though they know nothing about it. You get what I mean? I think the item does work well for my wife. She rolls on it... also, it can be made to roll. The best way to explain this item is if you close your eyes and imagine a rolly thingy and then voilá, you've got it! Really, it is just a black Styrofoam cylinder... that rolls.

Surprised, for better and worse.

When I first saw the backroller, my first thought was "I can't believe I just spent $20 on a piece of styrofoam". This is my first backroller, and when I saw the construction I was a little shocked. I was expecting some kind of hard foam, like the mats in gyms and such, but instead it looks exactly like compressed styrofoam packing, the kind you would find in a box for a TV, laptop, etc. Looks can be deceiving though. Due to a back injury, I have severe muscle knots. Despite several expensive visits to a chiropractor and doctor, I've been in pain for nearly year. One large knot in particular simply wouldn't go away. Since I've had the roller for a few days the knot has decreased significantly in size, and my pain has already begun to go down. I received the 36" version and being able to place this parallel to my spine has been helpful too. I would imagine having a shorter roller would make balancing more difficult int this aspect. Overall, I'm skeptical to how this will hold up over time. However, you can't go wrong for the price and the size of the roller you get. Also, this is the genuine product. There are j/fit labels on the ends to confirm this.

Works wonders on Back and Neck Pain

I have been using this for the last few weeks and can I say wow. From sitting at work all day and in traffic - I carry my stress in my neck and back. Many days I would come home and be barely able to turn my neck or stand upright! I tried heating pads, stretching, pain relievers and was finding no real relief. I used this with some of the techniques in the book "The MELT Method" and just by using it for 10 minutes I can virtually eliminate most of my neck and back pain. I lay on the roll so it aligns with my spine so vertically down my back ... and then put the arms out to the side palms down or above my head palms down and what a difference. So thankful I found this - it has really helped! I will be goggling/researching other ways to use this but so far very happy with purchase. Product is good quality and very dense - works great for whole family - we have tried with family up to 250 lbs and it is still in perfect condition/stayed dense no sagging/shape deformation. Great product.

Hurt in the Beginning, Now it's Fine & Painless For Me

I really had a lot of pain in my spine while reclining on this the first week, and then decided to return it. I had packed and labeled it to send back, and found a softer one on the internet that was out of stock for many weeks--which I ordered anyway. So I decided to give the harder one another try. For two weeks I used a folded thick towel to cushion it. The pain I felt the first week went away. Now I don't need the towel. I really like it, and I'm also going to try the soft one as well.

Not like they used to make them.

I gave a Cando extra firm roller to a friend and bought the J/Fit which is clearly inferior. It's considerably softer and bends ever so slightly. I can see it when it's flush on the floor. The Cando is firmer and never bent, even after 4 years of regular use. It still functions properly, just not top notch.

Let me start by saying thank you to J/FIT! This roller was just the thing I needed to get back into shape and boy did it help. It is quite firm, similar to the ones at the local Brick Bodies gym. I have had it over a year and none of the foam has chipped off and the composition hasn't changed one bit. I use it almost 2 hours a day now, 1 hour in the morning and 1 at night. It is perfect for anyone with any muscle stiffness and it has all but cured my lower back pain. I highly recommend this inexpensive pain relief. After watching tutorial videos online, I found the proper way to use it. If you are an athlete, it really stretches your IT band from your hips to your knee. I didn't know what flexible was until I had been using this for a month. A year ago my back hurt so bad I couldn't workout more than 20 minutes on cardio and couldn't lift weights, now after using this thing my flexibility has turned back the clock 10 years!

Exactly what I wanted

The roller is very well made and exactly as described. I am starting to run more and wanted a way to work on my legs afterwards. This fits the bill. The only thing that I found lacking is that there are not instructions on use. I am sure you can find lots of websites demonstrating the use, but it would have been nice to have a small instructional pamphlet.

Great! Truly extra firm

As described, this Roller is definately extra firm. I’m 308 pounds and this is perfect for me. It does not create pressure points so it is comfortable, yet it is quite effective at relieving tension in my back. My medium-weight daughter and wife also liked it for comfort and effectiveness. This roller is made in Taiwan. It held together well even when I put a bit of torque on it to see if it would break in half. I’m well-pleased. By the way, the US firm that has these made backs them well and promises full customer satisfaction. I did not need to call them, so I cannot verify that, but their promise is written and a telephone number is included.

I LOVE this roller

I LOVE this roller!!!!!! My personal trainer uses it with me and I finally bought it so I can use it anytime. Feels sooooooooo good to just lie on it with it along my spine.

Pleasurably painful.

I bought this 8 months ago and still use it regularly. It's rather hard so this thing goes deep into your muscles and releases a lot of tension if you do it right!

foam roller

quite surprised when I opened the package to see a lilac colored foam roller, which is not what I had ordered. It is quite firm, so will have to do.
