“Clucking Great” -my hens

TL;DR: I use this for my chicken coop. It keeps rain and droppings out of the oyster shell which saves me money due from waste. I would LOVE to have one of these made with stainless steel and a glass or UV resistant plastic top. I found the small one in a pet store and used it as a test run. Sometimes the rain will blow into the bottom of my coop from the side and it would ruin any oyster shell in a cup and make a mess. The top cover fixes that problem for me. Large is the one in the picture (beside of the rooster). If I find the small one (it broke after a couple of years and I replaced it with the large size) I will take a picture for comparison. I may spray paint the plastic with a UV resistant paint to extend the life. Sun just naturally degrades plastic and this wasn’t meant to be outdoor use. Things I like about the Large Size: + Cup is removable, just twist it a bit and lift it out of the ring. + Doesn’t have a perch + Larger capacity: I don’t have to refill it as often. Any little time saver on the farm is helpful. Negatives about the Large Size: -The ribbed washer is a bit annoying to put into place because it slips off of the little square piece. I wish there was a way to hold it better. You decide on the alignment you like the best for your cage setup I’d recommend glueing it in place. Things I like about the Small Size: +Doesn’t take up much space +Sufficient for a couple of hens Negatives about the Small Size: -Has a perch: I put a piece of wax paper on my glass top stove and melted it off -Cup doesn’t come off the ring. You have to remove the whole setup to clean it.

Got my bird to finally drink water

Buy this! My budgie was not drinking until I purchase this. It’s comfy for their feet and the cover keeps their waste out of it.

It's Helpful & Does The Job

I needed a covered water bowl for my African Grey. Did not expect this to hold up as well as it has against their destructive instincts, being plastic. But she likes it and does not destroy it, so small victories! It hung up easily inside her cage above the poo & seed flinging zone. The downside is, it's too small and awkwardly shaped so it's not super easy to clean or see inside of. It gets slimy if it isn't regularly cleaned (which of course you should be doing anyway, but slime is UGH). I wish it was larger, easier to get a full hand into for cleaning, with a larger hood/door. Finding things that work for large parrots is just a chore... but this does the job.

Great Item, has solved a problem that most Parrot owners know only too well.

I bought a small one first and it was so successful that I bought the larger one too, and it won’t be the last. This is for a Parrot who thinks her drinking water is a dumping ground for everything, then jumps in to have a shower too! She then started rolling in her pellet dish sending the pellets scattering all over. I was on dishes duty all day long changing and cleaning the stainless steel dishes. Now, with these new dishes it doesn’t happen, yippee. I thought at first she would be scared of them but it is working so well. Well done to the person who designed them, and thank you for quick delivery and service.

Bought for my canary - she enjoys it - this small size includes a perching area ( I don’t think the size up one does) The mechanism to ‘fix’ the cup to the holder is a bit too stiff to use but I don’t find it necessary to use it, I just place the cup on there and don’t actually need to swivel it to secure. So far I’ve only used it for seed

Waste Of Money

This company has had business from us for years and are great however our parrot destroyed this item in minutes. I cannot understand why it is so hard to buy an internally mounted unit that does not connect with a plastic screw and is not so cheap and nasty. Metal would be great with a screw on top and cage connection not this waste of money five minute wonder.

Totally unusable.

They leak, the glue comes apart, and they’ve been manufactured in a way that means you can’t fill them fully, making them hard to utilise for a bird.

Perfect

A great drinker for the budgies - an ideal size for them. I bought this and the medium size one as was unsure which would be more suitable for the pair of feathery fiends we have and this is the better by far - easily enough water for the both of them for the day, and could probably stretch to two days, but we change the water every day so cant really say whether or not it would. I bought it as the last drinker ( a gravity fed one ) was leaking left, right and centre and making the cage smell when the water gathered in the bottom. This cup doesnt leak at all and I would highly recommend it.
