Enjoyed it, until I made the mistake of letting fire get too hot
Really enjoyed this product for the time I had it, and produced some really nice meats. Extremely easy to use and clean up, and much quicker than the divide and conquer setup the smoker comes with. But unfortunately I let a fire get too hot, and the rings melted. Deflector plate held up fine, so odd that ring melted at lower temp. Ring inverted, so now useless. Not going to give lower rating because it clearly identifies to not allow heat to exceed 500 degrees. That said, for the price, it would be nice to be made out of an alloy that had a higher melting point. Not sure that it is worth the price to replace.

Amazing upgrade to Series 1 Big Joe
Although pricey, I do notice a significant improvement over using the ceramic heat deflectors in both temp control and smoke. This is a brilliant component and love that for a fraction of the cost of the series 3, I can add the most important advancements of the line to the far cheaper Series 1! I'm in love!

Kamado Joe Slow Roller Works Great!!
I cooked a brisket with the slow roller and it was the best brisket that I had ever had! I highly recommend getting this for your Kamado Joe!!

Does it work?
It’s easy to use but I’m not convinced about using the smoke more efficiently. Time will tell, but I’m not convinced it’s worth the $$$.

Fundamental flaw: low heat tolerance
Disappointed to learn that this product is fundamentally flawed. Will it create some interesting air pressure for your fire? Maybe. But will it support the type of smoke you want? No. Good smoke (blue/clear) requires wood to burn at 570 to 750 degrees. The SloRoller has a heat tolerance of only 500 degrees. In order to get "low and slow" temps on a kamado cooker, you will need multiple layers of heat deflection, so the included deflector plate will not work as your first layer unless your fire is burning at lower temps (and producing white / acrid smoke). You COULD use your ceramic stones as your first layer, then use the included deflector plate as a second layer on your X accessory rack, but this requires a Classic III or big joe (doesn't really work on my Classic II), and it reduces airflow / increases the likelihood of your fire getting smothered.

Sloroller / ribs
Came just in time to smoke ribs today. The only thing I would suggest if you’re smoking more meat is to think about how much you can fit with this because you won’t be able to shut the lid. I was able to squeeze 3 racks of ribs on the cooking grate and I was able to close the lid barley. After the ribs smoked for awhile and shrunk down it was no problem. I’ve never seen my top vent smoke so much since I got this. The smell of the ribs was amazing and the temp held at 225 the entire time.

Brilliant!!
This is excellent. Slow cooking via circulating air rather than deflected heat. Means 8+ hr cooks leave the food moist and ready to rock. Never going back to standard heat deflectors!

DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT
Hugely disappointed. First use and the black coating peeled and bubbled off - even at 300F. It is impossible to clean this item and it did not come with any instruction for cleaning or maintenance instructions. Also, there is no way to contact Kamado Joe about this except by filing out an online request form and then someone will respond within 24 hours. Don't waste your money.

Warped on second use
Cooked a brisket well below the max temp of 500 degrees. The ring that holds the deflector plate warped. You can see the gap in one photo and the warp in the other. *Edited my review here because KJ sent me a whole new Sloroller right away. No questions asked.
