This is a great product but you have to use more that it suggests. I put on the 3 coats it suggested and the magnets didn't stick. I ended up putting on 6 coats to make the magnets stick. So be advised you will have to use more. The end result was great and my kids loved the chalk/magnet board we made them for Xmas.

They raised the price by double!!!

I love this product but they raised the price by double!!!!! It was worth the price before, I needed more but I'm not paying double what I paid before. That's ridiculous.

Worth the initial time and patience

Do: Plan for multiple light coats Space out coats 2-3 hours apart, perhaps over two days instead Consider using chalkboard paint over magnetic layers Don’t: - Try and use a brush, 4” roller worked well - Leave edging tape on too long, but don’t try to not use tape ;-) - Apply more than two coats of any top layer paint, it will weaken the magnetism

Patience is the key- LOTS OF COATS needed

I have a 3x3 square above my desk that i did before i re- painted the room. I taped it off, and took my time over a 2 day period, adding coat after coat with some drying time in between. All total, I'm guessing I painted at least 7-9 coats. I lost track after 4. lol! It is very durable, & has been on my wall for the past 8 months.... all in all a great product. My take-away on this project? Don't be skimpy on the magnetic paint, especially if you are painting "color" over it. You want enough layers for your magnets to stick.

Good product, but too expensive! Plan on applying 5-6 coats!

This is an amazing product, but I only gave it 4 stars because you don’t get as much for your money as I would like! We put 3 coats onto my home office chalk board (aprox. 4’ x 4’) in order to turn it into a magnetic chalkboard. The Magnetize paint/primer went on easily and we had no problems applying 3 coats on one sunny and warm day. On a subsequent day we covered it with 2 layers of chalk board paint. The chalkboard looks great! All areas of my chalkboard are magnetic - even coverage without any voids! Unfortunately though, only thick magnets reliably work on the chalkboard. Consequently, I had to replace the thinner magnets on my instructional materials with thicker magnets. Given the cost of this product, I had hoped that 3 good coats would’ve been sufficient. If you want your surface to work reliably for all magnets then you should plan to put 5-6 coats of this product on the surface! Depending on your surface though, this could be quite expensive.

It works

The media could not be loaded. Did 3 coats. It goes on thick, definitely not a smooth coat.

The magnetic feature is nonexistent

I painted three coats of this and after it all dried, I tested the magnet on it and it didn’t stick at all. It didn’t even feel like it had any magnetic pull whatsoever
