Love it, but feels snug
I first bought Marmot back in 1997 from a store in Berkeley that looked like a Smurf cottage. I've always been loyal to the brand. That said, here is some feedback: What's great: The color (a nice gray) and the fabric (someone sprayed an oily perfume on me and I got the big spot off with vinegar and baking soda). What's not great: I am a Gap size 12. It's a little snug. I can't wear a thick sweater underneath. The zipper is a bit flimsy, which surprises me. When I try to zip the zipper all the way up, the neck is a bit stiff and awkward. Maybe it'll settle in time. The hoodie is a bit angular in its construction. I unzipped and removed it. The pocket are a bit high up. No inner pocket - I love a good inner pocket, oh well. Overall, I think it's a great deal if you pay under $200. The tag says $380 - no way, that'd be overpaying for what it is. I would buy black if it ever comes up under $150.

Extremely warm, even in windy weather
This coat is extremely warm, even on cold, windy New England days. It's an extra bonus that it's water resistant, although I did not test it in a downpour. Very well-made. Highly recommended.

2.0 version comes with lots of pros and cons
I bought both the 2.0 and the original version of this coat to compare. First off, the 2.0 is much more generous in terms of sizing. Almost too much in the chest and arms in my opinion. It looked overly bulky. I’m usually between a medium and a large, and found that the original version served me better in size large (smaller than the 2.0) and still had room to spare. Both are great for pear shapes, which was the biggest selling point for me in the first place. The arms on both models were on the short side for me which was unfortunate, but at 5’10” it wasn’t unexpected. I *hated* that the logo was moved to the front of the coat in the 2.0 version - the minimalistic branding drew me in in the first place. The 2.0 did offer a far less restrictive neck area, but still didn’t allow much space for scarfs which I know I’ll use regularly, so this update didn’t appeal to me too much. Lastly, the hood on the 2.0. is certainly bigger and an improvement over the original. However, I didn’t agree with others about the good being a dealbreaker. When I’m going to use the hood, it’s probably because conditions will be blustery enough to justify needing something tighter. I also didn’t like that the 2.0 dropped the zip-off faux fur feature the original offered. Ultimately, I returned this and kept the original. Hopefully this helps for folks deciding between the two!

Hot !
Just got this, first impressions. Light, warm, great cuffs for hiding hands up ... No breast pocket or internal pockets. No way to tighten hood. Hadn't realised its not an integrated hood but attached with a zip and velcro behind the enormous collar, no complaints its a great collar ! I'm short, 5 foot ish, this almost covers my knees . Lined and very warm pockets Perfect for dog walking , will just have to carry a bag ????
