Perfect fit and easy to install

I needed a new toilet seat for my 65 year old "Standard" toilet (predecessor to American Standard). This seat is super solid and I love that you can sit on the lid when it is closed without it caving in. I have never installed a toilet seat before and since I bought a returned item (is that gross?!), it did not come with instructions. Luckily it was still in the original packaging so all the bits and pieces were there. It took me about 10 minutes to uninstall the old one and install this one. Again, I've never done this before and it would have gone quicker had I known what I was doing. The whole contraption feels very stiff, but I've never had a slow close lid before, so maybe it's supposed to be that way? Overall I'm happy with this purchase.

Works great with Luxe 185 plus bidet

Good seat that works well with the Luxe 185 Plus bidet. Note that the nylon bolts that come with it have 8 little tabs on them under the bolt head - I snipped those off with some wire snips to make it fit well with the bidet.

Great Product AND Service

I took a flyer ordering the "Used" version and found it delivered without mounting hardware (this WAS in the fine print) which is proprietary to these seats and not just a plastic screw. I called the manufacturer and they quickly sent out a mounting kit - no questions asked.

You WILL need a wrench, NOT a screwdriver!

The media could not be loaded. This toilet seat is AWESOME! High quality enameled wood, round, white. All the things I wanted. I purchased a cheaper brand initially and that was a big mistake as the entire ordeal was horrible. So, I immediately jumped on Amazon and bought this one instead. I had already tossed my old toilet seat. I needed a replacement ASAP. Luckily, Amazon made good on their one-day delivery promise and I got this seat delivered the next afternoon less than 16 hours later. Very happy! It is VERY sturdy, has a soft close feature, is super easy to clean, has a nice design, and looks great once installed. The best part about this toilet seat is that it is PERMANENTLY TIGHT. I can’t stand it when toilet seats start to loosen and shift around so you have to tighten them again and again. Well this one is completely different, and they mean when they say it won’t EVER loosen. The only way I could see this seat loosening is if the securing screw breaks, which is highly unlikely. As we all know, toilet seats don’t last forever. So how, you might ask, can you replace this seat if the sucker is permanently attached, hmm? Well that’s another cool feature! Just pop onto Amazon here and buy another of this exact seat. If you’re like me, you’ll buy several so you have them for future replacements in case of discontinued manufacturing. The seat has these little lever type things that you just slide open and the entire top of the seat will slide right out of its grooves! Kind of like taking a door off its jamb. This is also how you’d clean and sanitize the entire seat in an ergonomic manner, rather than bending over the bowl to do it. Your replacement seats you purchased would work the same since it’s the same model. Just pull off the top half from the unlocked position and install onto the toilet. The portion of the old seat that remains is only the securing screw… still super tight and clamped down. The inventor of this seat was a mad genius! I’ve never seen one like it but it’s definitely the ONLY seat I’ll buy going forward! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! You WILL most definitely need a wrench of some sort to install this seat, NOT a screwdriver like most other types. The securing screw has to be tightened down enough on the underside of the toilet so that half of it literally snaps off which is how it becomes locked in place permanently. Only way to tighten it enough is with a wrench. Socket wrench recommended. This seat is NOT installed like typical seats, so pay close attention to how the arrows on the bolts face, which end of the snap screw to use, etc. I almost installed my seat upside down but caught it just in time. This is an important step because remember once the set screw is tightened and snaps off, it’s gonna be difficult/impossible to correct an alignment, orientation or position error. So go slow and get it right the first time. If installed correctly, it will fit perfectly and soft close like my video shows. Enjoy :) 12/15/22 UPDATE: I’ve had this toilet seat installed for 1.5 years. Do I still love it and stand behind my 5 star review? ABSOLUTELY!! The seat is STILL, 1.5 years later, as tight as the day I installed it in May 2021. I love this thing!! The underside of the seat is just barely starting to show some wear/tear for obvious reasons, which after 1.5 years of daily use, tells me how high quality craftsmanship this seat really is. I’ve recommended this to everyone I know! You should buy it, love it like I do, and tell your friends :)

So far so good

Not sure what is up with us but we have been buying top of the line wooden toilet seats in the big box store. We have been buying much the same one for around $70 and have now gone through about five of them I 8 years. Last one only lasted 3 months. So I gave in looked at issues and maybe not exactly the correct fit for my toilet many other people have had the same issue broken in almost exactly the same place. So I checked out this one it is much the same quality as the much more expensive seat but doesn’t have brushed nickel furnishings at the mount point. These seats are supposed to tighten up until the part snaps off so you then know exactly how much to tighten them which I think might be the problem with the more expensive one. Time will tell but so far it has lasted out excessive recent use.

It fits and is the right colour

I had a hard time finding a bone/beige toilet seat locally for our 35 year old American Standard toilet. This one matches perfectly. Good quality, sturdy and easy to install.
