First hummingbird feeder leaked; Replacement is perfect!
I purchased the red glass hummingbird feeder. It arrived in a plain brown box with with printed info and directions. I noticed at the time that I unpacked the feeder that the lid and silicone gasket didn't seem to fit, but tried it out. After washing it and filling it with perhaps one cup of nectar, it was leaking the nectar and I couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from. I tried several times with as little as 1/3 Cup of nectar and it always leaked. I can only guess that perhaps the flower feeding ports were too low on the blown glass side and that the feeder was leaking from the flower ports. It was a constant drip and I couldn't find what caused the leaking problem. I searched through all the Amazon reviews to see if anyone else had any problems with leaking nectar, and found nothing. Since I was unable to keep it from leaking all the nectar, I called Amazon to request a return and replacement, and I am so happy I did! The replacement feeder came in a printed box with the same general info, and the lid and gasket fit perfectly. When i added nectar to the feeder it didn't leak at all. It is a beautiful red glass and I had no further problems. I like the glass feeder better than the plastic versions because it is much easier to clean and it doesn't bother me that it holds less nectar than plastic feeders. If there is any drawback to this feeder, it is the metal hanging basket and chains. It may be difficult to place the glass feeder in the basket so it is level if the feeder isn't seated completely or if the chains are not set up correctly. My only other comment that is not a problem for me, is that on the replacement box it states the flowers are aluminum and they are plastic as stated in the listing. It is a beautiful hummingbird feeder, leak free, and I am happy to watch the hmmingbirds come to feed!

Beautiful piece of art, no hummingbirds yet but it looks absolutely awesome in my yard. Easy clean and fill.

Best hummer feeder out there!
That's it, I am replacing all my feeders with this one. I've been through so many different types trying to find one that, (1) doesn't leak, (2) easy to clean & disassemble/reassemble, (3) durable & bright color that doesn't fade. This feeder checks all those boxes. If you've not discovered yet, like I have after buying many type of feeders, this "ufo" design is the ONLY type that guarantees no leaks. At all. The key is that the feeder holes are on the top. Even better is that it is entirely glass, even the flowers. This a true red glass, NOT red over clear glass that most feeders are. This color will not fade or chip off. It is nice and thick. The glass feeder sits inside of a metal "basket" of sort, and is easily lifted out. The chains to hang, which are not cheap looking, attach to the metal ring. Another plus is the perches, that I have seen them use. The lid of the feeder has a tight rubber gasket around it, and sets right on top of the feeder, creating a nice seal. The holes in which the red glass flowers go into also have rubber gaskets. Also, the flowers are red. This is a good thing- bees and wasps are attracted to yellow! Hummers see in near UV light, and are attracted to bright reds and pinks, but ultimately they are attracted to a reliable source of fresh nectar. The simple design and the glass itself makes this feeder so simple to clean. I put only enough nectar for the day (maybe half way full), as I don't want it to go bad in the heat- the hummers really seem to appreciate this and await my trips to the feeders every day. Each time I go to fill it, I lift the glass feeder out of the hanger, and just rinse it out with the hose. Once or twice a week I'll bring it in, pop off the gaskets and flowers, and wash in warm water. I've read reviews that the metal chain is delicate, and the metal rusts quickly. I've not encountered either of those problems, and it rains here frequently in the summer. And for those that say this feeder is "too deep" for them to access the nectar, go google hummingbird tongues! You'll be amazed at how far they can reach, in combination with that long beak. Yes, this is a smaller feeder. It's actually better to have more small feeders spread about your yard, than a single large feeder to discourage competition and in-fighting between the birds. Those males can be aggressive. In conclusion, this is the best feeder I've yet to own, and will be buying 2 more to replace the cheap plastic ones I currently have. So go ahead and buy this feeder and fill with fresh nectar (1 part sugar:4 parts water)- no dyes! I also recommend getting an ant moat to hang from the top of the feeder, and don't let any plants or vines brush up against it, as the ants will use that to access the feeder.

Very poor quality, horrible customer service
This feeder rusted within less then 2 weeks of use. Company has a "lifetime" warranty, but they told me I'd be responsible for the cost of them shipping the replacement part to me, from the USA. They said cost would be significantly higher due to me being in Canada, and if I had a US address, they could ship it there (not sure how that is logical, as I'd have to pay to ship it to the US address, but then what? LOL). Thankfully Amazon made it right, but shipping out another and I sent Amazon the defective back on Amazon's dime. If the new one rusts, hopefully Amazon will just refund me fully. Too bad as its a very nice feeder!

Received item damaged
I just received my feeder in the mail today. Was super excited. It's pretty, but smaller than expected. The worst part is, it arrived with a crack. I would normally have sent a private message to the seller, but didn't see an option. I don't like dealing with returns through the mail system sooo.

Birds Love It - I have some issues
I have two of these, one purchased over 3 years ago. Still works great, had to change the rechargeable battery once. No rust or hanging issues; you do have to get the chains in a certain order on the ring to attain level. The hummingbirds seem to prefer these over the red bottle-style feeder; normally drink them almost dry in a week or so -- which is when the liquid should be changed anyway. The LED light makes it an interesting yard ornament in the evening. There are some quality control issues, the openings (or gaskets) are a slightly different size. I have some mildew on the gaskets which I can't remove. The lights have stopped working, not sure a new battery will solve the issue. Unfortunately the LED unit isn't the standard size.

Beautiful by day, gorgeous at night, holes a bit too large
This is such a gorgeous piece. My hummingbirds prefer my other feeders but just for the look of it, it is worth having in my collection. The holes are large so when it rains, the rain mixes with the hummingbird feed and dilutes it. I bought a red feeder guard and works great at keeping the rain out now. 4 stars for functionality, 5 stars for appearance.

Looks nice and attracts hummers but slightly flawed design
It looks very nice and it does attract hummingbirds - I've had them non-stop since I put it up. There are two bothersome design flaws I've noted however that have been pointed out by other reviewers as well: 1. There is no indication as to how full you should fill the feeder... fill it a little too much and it spills out the openings and all over the place when you put the top on. If you don't fill it enough, the hummingbirds can't reach the liquid. A simple line etched into the glass would solve this. 2. As the flower openings are at the top of the feeder, the hummingbirds can only reach the top few milliliters of the liquid. The rest of the liquid goes to waste, and you have to fill it very frequently. The plastic gaskets that hold the flowers need to be longer so that they can bring more liquid up to the flower through capillary action.
