I found this replacement version not nearly as comfortable as the previous version from New Balance that it replaces. Tends to hurt on side of foot.

These insoles are exactly what I needed. They are very firm, but I had gone to a New Balance store and gotten the foot scan and learned I had high arches, and it turns out firm, high arch support is what I need for walking. Somehow they don't seem to be great for idly standing, but that isn't the use I got them for anyhow. Unfortunately, these have become squeaky, but I think some trimming should fix that minor issue. What's important is I have the arch support I didn't realize I so sorely needed. It has been about three months since I started wearing these in my NB 840s, and these are holding up quite well -- and I'm a heavy man who walks his dog several times a day.

Not as wide as original insole

Not great for my low arch

I have somewhat flat feet with a bit of pronation. I bought these insoles hoping they could replace the insoles an industrious puppy tore out of my NB Fresh Foam 1165 shoes. Alas, the replacement insoles didn't work as well as I'd hoped. The insoles are very firm with no give under my medial arch. Since I have low arches, the effect is like walking with my foot draped over a rock. Additionally, the arch support is too short for the length of my medial arch, so it's really a bit like walking on a rock with the front half of my foot hanging off the edge. I'd love more transverse arch support. This sort of support would probably be great for someone with a higher arch and shorter foot, but it doesn't work for me.

Worth every penny for athletic support!

I bought these to be used as arch support insoles for athletics. They are perfect for that purpose!!! I have low arches and suffered from shin splints and stress fractures from constant running as a Div 1 athlete. In college I had custom made orthotics that cost over $1000 a pair and wore out after less than 1 year. These are just as good at 5% of the cost. I put these or the similar green superfeet in every pair of athletic shoes I own. Running shoes, basketball shoes, golf shoes, hunting/hiking boots, ski boots, cleats, etc. I have not had issues with shin splints/stress fractures since using the arch support insoles and would not go without them in any athletic shoe. I like these so much I purchased a pair for my dad to help with his plantar fasciitis. He also loves them! Worth every penny!

Helps with foot fatique

I purchased a pair of these for my husband and this is what he had to say: Foot fatigue is a problem I have dealt with for years(decades?). Owning a business where I am standing/walking on concrete floors all day takes its toll. I am always on the lookout for shoes and/or insoles that can make my life more pleasant. I replaced the insoles from my work boots with New Balance's insoles. The improvement was immediate. Instead of getting home with sore feet and fatigued legs, I still had energy to enjoy the evening!! New Balances insoles are made by Superfeet, who makes a great product. I am considering buying these for my employees in the hope it will make spending their days on their feet a little more enjoyable!

Happy Arch, Happy Life

perfect arch support for my NB walkers. Quick trim and they fit into my shoes. The insoles fit great and do not pop out or fold over when I take my shoes off (and i removed them not so gently). So perfect arch support for my very high arch.
