Perfect gate latch!
We spent a considerable amount on a new deck including a gate to keep the grandbabies and the dogs on the deck. The problem was the wood on the gate adjust over a little bit of time and the standard 4" latch bar was no longer long enough to latch the gate. We bought this latch (even though we only needed the bar) system and replaced the whole thing on our gate. It is awesome having the extra length for the gap and the spring mechanism is great also. Very very satisfied with this purchase.

Extended length
Had to move a gate, and needed a bit of an extension on the latch. This worked perfectly. Seems like a quality product - I am happy with it

Nicer gate latch than most others
We had a bit of shifting of the fence which made the original gate latch bolt too short. That gate wouldn’t lock easily. This new gate latch has a much longer bolt, 6” which allows the gate to shift a little and still have plenty of area to lock easily. Really like the spring loaded lock feature. The wire cable that reaches to the outside for easy pulling on it to open the gate was another extra bonus that the old lock didn’t have. Overall this was worth the price and super easy to install.

Better than anything you will find in your bigbox hardware store!
This is a killer product with my only beef being the instructions are too minimal. I could not figure out the cable but they also included a cord to route through the gate post so I used that. I love that the latch has a hidden spring so you do not have to rely on gravity to close the latch. The generous long bar will force open the latch and it then the spring brings it down & home. 6" bars are nonexistent in the stores so I was thrilled to find it and have it be a high quality unit. I needed to pre-drill the holes because all screws nowadays will strip out unless you have very soft wood. I am happy I ordered two, one for my neighbors' gate (helping out the elderly sisters) and one for my stash in the garage. I will wait until my old gate latch dies and then install this winner. I would really like for them to provide an online instruction video for the cable system though. I am a retired navy computer tech and even I was confused...

Pretty good, with one minor flaw
The spring loaded latch is great, and solves one of the main issues with other kinds of latches (where gravity isn't quite enough to push the latch down sometimes). The only issue here is that the "arm" is just a bit to thick for the latch. When the latch is in the topmost position, the "arm" can't get passed it without rubbing. That seems unfortunate and will guarantee that the paint will get rubbed off and also just prevents the gate from effortlessly opening when you pull the latch open (instead it needs a gentle push to rub past the latch).

Good except for the screws
I needed a latch with a longer "finger" to help with a gate that was sagging. This latch was perfect and it seems really well made. The catch has a spring in it which makes it latch more securely than other gate latches I've installed. My only complaint is that the screws that came with this were unusable. The short screws that attach the latch plate were normal phillips head screws. But the others weren't. They had some sort of star head on them. The star bits I have which work with common deck screws were all too big. I had to toss the screws out and use some I had on hand. It's really a shame, because otherwise this is a great latch.

Longer is better
Great product. The long 6" extended bar helps out the closing the gate when there is a large gap between the gate and the post for locking.

One of the best latches on the market, self-adjusting, self-locking
I had the cheapest quality gate latches installed, the gravity latch would not work well and we often found ourselves having to remember to lower the latching element manually or kids would just close the door hard to make it fall. It was frustrating to us all. I replaced both my gates with these latches, and they are durable and have served their purpose all year-round including during harsh Canadian winters. 1. Installing this was a breeze and comes with all the hardware you need, including the sturdy metal cord that you use to pull-open the latch from outside. 2. Gate posts shift, particularly in places where winters are harsh (most of Canada). The self-adjusting mechanism means the latching bar will still be functional during the worst of winter, and summer as it just adjusts when posts shift a bit. 3. The spring-loaded latch works flawlessly every single time, and kids have been able to close the door without any issues, because the latch catches nicely every time.

Longer striker is handy and spring loaded latch works well.
The media could not be loaded. The latch is simple to install And is well made. If you use the back plate it has suitable countersunk screws so the bolt can move properly, but the space in the plate could be smaller so that it helps hold the force from the gate closing. The whole striker force is held bu just the one screw. I installed the cable provided they the post, but had to remove it as it interfered with the latch working properly. The latch has a nice long striker, so if the gate moves you have about 2” more striker length to work with which is the main reason I bought it.

Best gate latch I've ever used
Unlike all those junky gravity based latches I've bought and subsequently discarded to a misc bin, this one works like a charm, and as it turns out those surplus gravity latches came in handy as i attached them to house so each gate has something to hook to when its fully open, time to get rid of those stupid old bricks I was using for gate stoppers I would image the basic instructions provided probably don't go far enough for a novice but as someone who has installed a few gates I knew how it all goes together so had no problem. Paint flaked off a little bit when seating one of the screws but no big deal to me.
