Works Better Than Expected
I purchased this thermostat to have on hand during the pandemic because our old Honeywell thermostat was seeing better days. This one sat on a shelf in our den for over a year. Last spring, a mouse had chewed a wire in the outside unit of our air conditioner. I had the heating and A/C tech install this one before he left. He was impressed at the large display and how easy it was to use and install. Most homeowners should find it easy to install. It's been working well for over a year and 'I'd recommend it'.' (I'll up it a star if it's still working well at summer's end.)

Good value for the cost
We've been impressed with the ease of install of this thermostat right out of the box. We were able to use the same anchor holes the old thermostat used. Unfortunately this thermostat sits lower on the wall than the previous thermostat, so we'll need to do some spackling and painting to hide the exposed area (lesson learned - always remove the thermostat when you paint the walls). My 84 yo mother-in-law can be sitting 10 ft away on the couch and easily see the temperature w/o her glasses. The backlight only stays on for a few seconds after you've changed settings, and then it turns off, making the display a bit harder to read in a darker room. It would be nice if the programming had a 7 day setting for folks who don't need separate programs for weekday/weekend. I discovered the "copy" function about 4 days into programming the settings, and this made it much easier to set up for my elderly in-laws. One annoyance I did find while programming it was the setting function times out pretty quickly while you are setting temps and times, so if you have to pause and think about what you are setting, it times out and drops you out of the function within 3-5 seconds - way too fast. I feared I had to start over for that day I was programming, but I found it would save whatever settings you had gotten through before dropping you out. Give the user 10 seconds before it drops out of the feature and I'd be much happier. I also saw some folks complaining about hearing a 'click' when the unit comes on. You can hear it, but it's a muted click, and some folks might find that useful to know when the heat/AC is coming on. I see folks complaining about temperature 'swing' in their reviews of this unit, and another reviewer posted this very helpful info about accessing the advanced settings menu to address it (haven't tried it yet myself), so I'll copy his directions here in my review, too, as I believe this info is very important for folks who might experience this swing issue in use: "To access the advanced menu: 1. Slide the MODE switch to OFF. 2. Press RUN to wake up the thermostat and activate the back light. 3. Hold the RESET button. (This button is on the back of the thermostat where you installed the batteries.) 4. Press the SET button while holding the RESET button. (Do this fast! If you hold RESET for more than 5 seconds, it resets the entire thermometer to out-of-the box default values. If it does not work on the first try, release both buttons and try again.) 5. Release both buttons in less than 5 seconds. You should now see screen that displays "offset" in the upper right corner. Press SET to cycle through the advanced settings. OFFSET I found it helpful to increase the temperature offset by a couple of degrees. My thermostat is in the hallway where there are no heater vents. By the time the hallway reaches my desired temperature, the temperatures in the rooms with the vents are typically 2-3 degrees higher than the hallway temperature. EARLY START I left this off, but you can turn it on to have the heat start before the programmed time. I just programmed the start time to begin 15 minutes before I get home. SYSTEM TYPE Set to "F" for furnace, "HP" if you have a heat pump. MINIMUM CYCLE PERIOD According to the user manual: "Changing the minimum cycle period to six minutes or greater enables smart logic." Apparently the thermostat has some ability to learn the best cycle times for your system. They give a table in the manual for common cycle periods. I set mine to 12 minutes for a 1-stage furnace with an electric fan."

As we get old, we need larger fonts and this does the job
I needed something without weird WIFI and/or crpware. Last thing I wanted is to fight with a gizmo that wanted to outsmart. This thing is exceedingly good at simplicity. It took some time to calibrate the thermostat. I used a KAIWEETS Digital Multimeter TRMS 6000 to do that. I truly recommend to use multimeter, just make sure that has thermocouple feature. They are very inexpensive these days.

Great thermostat, except......
This is a great little thermostat. It's relatively easy to use and easy to read. Set and forget. The only issue is that it doesn't have a date feature which would allow it to automatically adjust the time when Daylight savings happens. Really, I have to dig out the manual twice a year to remember how to set the time? Please add to your Amazon description "No auto DST adjustment." or add that simple feature to the unit. I think that most folks would opt for the latter. Thanks.

Looks great
Programs super fast and easy. Nice big easy to read display. Great copy features, just program one day, copy to all and your done or just change other days as needed. Now the bad, this thing was so close to being returned ???? with a 1 ⭐ review. The install should have taken 10 minutes (replacing same existing 4 wire setup). I spent over an hour because the screws, wholes for wires and the terminal are all so small and poorly placed that it is close to impossible to get the wires into terminal and then tighten them. I was very lucky to fine a Philips head screwdriver small enough to do the trick. It would have never work with their directions. You can't do it with the base mounted to the wall as defined. Mount base first, then remove it and wire terminal and remount it. Could be so much easier if the terminal was not attached to the base. Wire terminal, clip on to base, mount base, plug in thermostat, done ????!

Not bad for a 'pretty' programmable 'dumb' thermostat
Got this to replace my old gross non-programmable thermostat. All the wires matched and installation was easy enough. A few things I didn't like.. 1)Programming it was a PAIN.. it has 4 timers and *all* four have to be set. (2 away timers and 2 home timers), irregardless to whether or not you want to use less of the timers- I just have the home/away set to the same, but it's a bit of an annoyance, especially when you have to change batteries and it resets.. 2) The thermostat has a C-wire contact pad on the PCB, but the manufacturer has removed the actual pin it would connect to, which is stupid I don't know why they've gone and done that. It would be nice to have the option to connect a common to it and not worry about changing batteries. (and save a few bucks a year) 3) I knew this when I got it and it didn't affect me at the time, but while this works for electric heaters, if your running a heat-pump that has emergency heat (as most new models have), this will not work (properly). So if you have gas/oil, you're good to go. But if your electric heat-pump uses emergency heat, then you're probably SOL

It is money well spent, simple to set
It holds temperature very steady, and changes temperature very easy. Unlike the Honeywell that we have that with wifi that jump up and down over 10 degrees that freeze us to death between day time and night time. Well, may be it need to play around, but I don't have time for that. It is money well spent.

Does not spy on you
The thermostat was not too bad to install. The programming of it was a bit tricky, but once done so far it working great,I like the back light and large display,it doesn’t use the internet to spy on your usage, only issue with it ,uses three aaa batteries

Sharp looking, Works well
I installed this thermostat in less than 10 minutes. It was intuitive and directions were clear, only thing I had to look for in the manual was how to set the clock (turn the unit off then set). Overall I am happy with the purchase, although I wish the clock would appear larger when the unit is not in use, id rather see the time than the temp from across the room.

Excellent Thermostat!
I was looking for a new thermostat with a bright bold display that's easily programmable for both heating and cooling for a 120V system. This item exceeded all expectations. Easy to install using existing behind-the-wall wiring. The pre-programmed settings worked perfectly, and I simply had to adjust the temperature settings and convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius.

Large display
Relatively easy to program. As a retired person I love the copy feature that keeps me from having to repeat each days start/end times. Just set one day and copy all. The clock is also accurate unlike other thermostats I have had. A very good value so far.
