Good fit and Great Safety Features
If you're in need of a reliable and functional life jacket for your pup, the Outward Hound Granby Splash Orange Dog Life Jacket is a great option. I recently purchased this life jacket for my 2-year-old miniature dachshund to use while swimming and aboard our sailboat. I was very happy with its fit and function. One thing I appreciate about this product is the flap under the chin. This is a good safety feature that will hold her long nose up out of the water. It was snug but not too tight, and it did not restrict her movement or ability to run and play. The jacket also felt comfortable for her to wear, which is important as she is a highly active dog who loves to zoom around and wrestle. The jacket's quality is also impressive. The material is durable and well-constructed, and it has held up well after multiple uses. The bright orange color makes it easy to spot my dog in the water and the grab handle on top provides peace of mind for me as a pet owner. Overall, I would highly recommend the Outward Hound Granby Splash Orange Dog Life Jacket to anyone in need of a reliable and functional life jacket for their furry friend. It fits well, is made from quality materials, and allows your dog to run and play with ease while staying safe in the water.

Best for Swimming
My 40+lb Border Collie has been swimming on a weekly basis for the past year. I have used the pool's life jacket which is an older model of this life jacket. Though they don't make the same, this one was the best for his range of motion for a comfortable swim. It took a year for my pup to get over his fear in the water and enjoy swimming, and trying different life vests, this one had the best in comfort and movement, as well as safety. Look forward to using it for years to come!

Good quality, weird sizing
Seems to be of good quality but the sizing is way off from the recommended sizing. I have a 70 lb golden, I measured his circumference and in theory the large should have fit him. Based on reviews, I figured it might not, so I bought both L & XL. The Large: I could not even get the front clip anywhere near close enough to clip! WAY to small for my boy. The XL: HUGE. This thing is way to big for Milo, again, weighing in at 70, so I figured it would be a little big on him, but he can barely move around in it. Overall, I like the jacket & it seems like it would hold up in the water. Just wish the sizing would have worked out.

Runs big
I got the sporty design so that it wouldn't ba as bulky. I ordered a large for my pup with a 28 inch chest and it was too big. It fits my 60ish lb pup great though. The medium fits my 44 lb pup with a 28 inch chest perfectly. It's very well made and I was able to lift my pup with ease back onto the sup using the handle! The look that attaches the leash attachment did break almost instantly while we were out. Other than that it's perfect and both my pups will be wearing them!

Flotation vest looks great!
Fits nice, if a tiny bit snug. Dog is an Australian Shepherd, 22” at the shoulder and 65#. Vest is a large. The pic shows the vest covering most of the dog’s hips, but mine only goes about 2/3 of the way down his length. Will give it a go on the boat and report back once he gets wet.

Great for a Cockapoo!
This is the 2nd one I’ve bought. He outgrew the first one I bought. He is a 1 year old Cockapoo weighing 18 lbs. I bought the small and it fits great! I would say size up if they’re in the 25lb range.

We love it!
My Aussie is a great swimmer but Im paranoid and wanted to make sure that she was safe and wouldn't get tired mid swim. So far it's been perfect for what we needed and I absolutely love the color! I bought one for my Bernese mountain dog and I love it as well!

French Bulldog -Wide Chest
My dogs chest measured 19in so I ordered a small, wish I had ordered a size up. Once it arrived and we tried it on, his neck is to wide for the small and the chin rest was not in the correct place. Will exchange for a medium.

Amazing quality, will keep your dog safe in the water!
The media could not be loaded. This life jacket is absolutely perfect. We bought this for our daschund, who is a real pain to buy for, due to his funny shape and size. This life jacket fits him perfectly however. The life jacket is made from incredibly high quality materials. The straps and buckles are rock solid, and the high quality foam ensures he floats on the surface of the water at all times. Additional I love the high visibility of the jacket due to its neon orange colour, and the two top-mounted rescue handles. Couldn't recommend enough!

Sizing
I haven't used this jacket yet so my review is just about sizing. It seems well made. The jacket is fastened under the belly with velcro strips and is secured with straps and clips. My border collie has a girth of 25 inches so I ordered the medium size but the velcro section only just engages under his chest and doesn't leave any wriggle room (the two fingers test). The life jacket seems very short along his back compared to the dog on the label (Australian Shepherd). I contacted Outward Hound to ask their opinion and they thought the jacket looked the correct size. They said the length along the dog's back was not important, just the girth size. It is true that even if the velcro is not engaged there are additional fastenings in the form of straps with clips so the life vest can be fastened securely beyond the velcroed sections up to a girth of about 27" but there is room for another row of velcro on the bands so I am going to retro fit these rather than exchange it for the large size. I would say consider ordering the large if you have a dog with a girth larger than 25". Hope this helps.

Not yet water tested but size wise ...
Not yet water tested but for sizing: My pup is an 8 lb Maltese. Fairly small, chest 15inches We started off with XS which was just 1 inch too small. The velcro on the bottom didn’t quite attach, so we sized up to the small. Fits perfectly and lots of room to tighten as needed. The neck wasn’t choking him and the length still an inch before his tail begins so seems to fit. If your pup is quite slim in the tummy I’d opt for the XS cause it’s a cute size. Girth is 15 on my pup and XS was a tight fit. I’d say max girth 13/14 for XS

Doesn't inspire my dog to swim, but a good precaution.
Sadly this did not transform my dog into an instant confident swimmer, she looks at me with total disgust when it comes out the cupboard. That said, it fits her perfectly and is supposed to keep her safe if she 'does a stupid' whilst out on waterside adventures, which the coat does. I know she can swim (having fallen in off the bank in a few places) she just prefers not to, and this cost hasn't changed that one bit! As I've been boating / kayaking more this season and wanted the dog to come along, I thought it was better to be safe than sorry as she's not a voluntary swimmer (in total defiance of her breeding). She much prefers to stay in whatever craft I'm using, and is quite happy there, this is a precaution only. I have carried her into the water with it on and supported her to swim with me by her side thinking she might take to it better with me with her, but she's still more of a land dweller :( It keeps her more buoyant and the chin float seems to stop from any accidental nose dunking. Its bright, and the two handles would make any scooping rescue really easy. One thing I think is missing though, is a D ring or some kind of loop to attach a line to - for dogs that are maybe prone to swimming too far in / swimming after birds / maintaining control and safety in any moving water, if that's what you're doing. If Binx were at all adventurous in water, I'd have retrofitted one for sure, rather than attaching a line to her collar. In any kind of emergency you dont want to be pulling your dog in by the neck if that would at all cause discomfort or dunking. A loop on the back of the coat (neck or tail end) would be preferable to pull the dog in with, in my opinion.

Brilliant! Two ordered with confidence as Outward Hound have ...
Brilliant! Two ordered with confidence as Outward Hound have a good reputation. We have two Saluki's one 25KG and the other 30KG the large fitted them both perfectly. There is an adjustable gusset that secures across their chest and then three Velcro straps over that so it does not dig in to them. I prefer these to others as they have two handles to lift the dogs out of the water if necessary - most come with just one. Bargain when you consider we only paid £17.60 each with free shipping from the US which incidently, arrived faster than stated!
