Very happy with these as a home cook, great interior shape

These are not rated highly by Cook's Illustrated/America's Test Kitchen or Serious Eats for being bulky and difficult to pour from. I bought the ones suggested by Serious Eats, but they were super flimsy and nearly the same price - I returned them and bought these instead. I'm just a home cook/baker and I've been cooking for almost 40 years. I'm extremely happy with the Oxo bowls. The exterior sits nicely on my countertop and doesn't slide around. They are also not as heavy as they may appear. Nowhere near the weight of glass mixing bowls. I wish I had gone with my gut and just purchased these the first time instead of trying the "expert favorites". They're replacing a set of Linens and Things stainless steel bowls that I'd had for over 20 years which were still okay except some of the bottoms were more rounded than flat (like water froze in them and expanded, but I'd never done that). I'm happy with the sizes of these bowls (I really did not need the 6 and 8 qt sized bowls in the previous set) and the shape of the interiors. It's flat yet slightly round, perfect for whisking and stirring without the sharp corner of solely stainless bowls.

Lightweight and useful

Great mixing bowls. I use only silicone or wooden utensils. After hand washing I dry them completely - otherwise the water will leave droplet residue.

High quality bowls that are worth the extra cost

I'm not a cook, but I do make cookies every couple of weeks. These bowls work very well for my purposes. It is very easy to scoop thick cookie dough out of these bowls - certainly much easier than with the glass bowls I formerly used. Due to their rubber-like bottoms, they do not slip on our smooth countertop when mixing thin liquids. But, the bowls will slip when mixing thick cookie dough. They are very sturdy, very durable. Overall, a quality product that is worth the extra cost in my opinion. They are washed in a dishwasher with no ill effects so far.

These are the bowls you need

I was hesitant because of the higher price of these bowls. I’m so glad I ordered them eventually. First of all they look great & I can serve out of them at family potlucks. The rims are amenable to the stretchy silicone bowl covers, so I can store leftovers in these stainless steel bowls as well. The rims also make it easy to pick up & handle the bowls. The best feature is the non-skid bottoms, leading to less drama during meal prep or baking ;) If I recall correctly, these bowls are not dishwasher safe, which will be a hard stop for some folks. For me, it is well worth hand washing them. My husband loves these bowls as well. Once again, OXO has a great product. You can stop your bowl search now & simply order these.

Going strong after 12 years

Bought over 12 years ago and we use them and put them through the dishwasher many times a week. They're still white on the outside. The rubber bottom has not deteriorated and I still enjoy how useful that feature is. Great bowls.

Excellent kitchen tool - a must have!

Dec. 2021 - Lots of thought has been put in the design of these bowls; they're lightweight yet sturdy. I like the rubber non skid bottoms handy in many ways and will protect your stone counters as well. They clean beautifully and are deep enough and attractive for all uses. For those who complained about poor packing, this Seller heard you loud & clear. Mine arrived not only in a box, they were protected with bubble wrap and Styrofoam between each layer of stacked bowl. They arrived early and in perfect condition so ladies & gents, don't let those reviews stop you. My husband found these bowls and they are the best I've owned so far. Happy cooking!

Excellent mixing bowl set

We wanted white and were happy to get a set of mixing bowls that offered the white exterior but the easy to clean and SCRUB DURABLE stainless steel interior. The non slip rubber base is a welcome upgrade to our old slippery steel bowls. They look and feel great and stack nicely on our open shelf. I would say they are stable on counter tops. I do NOT think they are tipsy as some may have mentioned. It's a bowl shaped item so they are never going to be as planted to the counter as items such as pots. We paid more than we would have liked, but the quality and value is there no doubt.
