Excellent light but does not last

I’m using this light to make myself more visible to car drivers and other cyclists or exercisers on the local trail, which crosses many roads. . I’ve noticed more cars stopping to let me pass. I also like how securely it attaches to the handlebars. The battery seems excellent for my rides which can sometimes be 3 hours which I’m currently doing about 4 days a week. However, I’m on my 3rd one! The 1st one just stopped working after about 2 weeks. Hard to easily describe but the light was not staying on or staying on briefly at lower (almost none) brightness. But Amazon makes a return/exchange SO easy and I like the product so much when it works, I opted for replacement. After that it worked great … for about 1 year. The 2nd one started doing similar things as the 1st one. But again because this light DOES work great WHEN IT WORKS, I decided to get a 3rd one! It has been about 2 weeks on the 3rd one and so far so good!

Great light, not so great mount

This light is great for early morning rides and the light modes come in handy to switch to a much brighter light on more technical roads. The mount has always been a little loose such that the light clicks in place but, can become loose on bumpy roads. I usually recheck that it’s secure but, today it rattled loose on a bumpy road and somehow I missed that it fell off and couldn’t find it backtracking. Bye bye light. Just make sure you have it mounted securely or stay off bumpy roads.

I like the all in one

This light was exactly what I was looking for. Have had to prior NiteRider lights over the last 12 years, and both performed very well. The prior lights had separate battery packs. I like the all in one, and with improved battery technology this unit has the same battery life and more lumens than the prior lights I owned. I thought about getting the upgraded model with the digital display, but decided this was more than I needed. I saw some reviews complaining the mount was not great, and that the upgrade mount was better. My road bike has carbon ergo bars with an oval section on either side of the stem, but with a little space to mount a round light bracket right next to the stem. But this is exactly where the cables exit the recessed cable trough heading out to the brake hoods. The rubber strap on mount included mount fit nicely around the cables. The first wet ride, it started to slip a little, so I just tightened the strap to the next hole, which was easier to do with the bars wet. That stopped it from slipping. The only complaint I have is that the instructions were not that clear. The light comes in "lock" mode, and the instructions don't start with an explanation of this or how to get it out of lock mode (although this mentioned elsewhere in a section about how to activate lock mode). On first start-up, you have to depress and hold the "on" button for 6 seconds to take it out of lock mode. After this, each time you depress the button, it advances to a brighter setting. Hold the button for 3 seconds and it goes to a blink setting. Hit it again and it goes to second blink setting, hit it a third time and it goes to a low level hiking setting. Hit it again and it takes you back to the lowest steady beam, and keeps cycling through the steady beam intensities unless you hold it again for 3 seconds to get back to the blink and hike settings. Double click at any time to get to the max lumen setting. Hope this clarifies!

Great Light

I do a lot of riding in the dark because evening hours are when I have the most available time to go on rides. Anyway, long story short is I have 3 of these lights so I never run out of battery power/light. First things first, this light is bright. On the highest setting you will be able to see perfectly even if you are in the woods with absolutely no ambient light. However, you will only get around 45 minutes on the brightest setting before the red indicator light comes on for low battery. At this point you probably have another 15-20 minutes to go for around 1 hour total. If you only have one light and will be riding for more than an hour you should not use the highest setting. The flashing mode is great, but it only has one brightness level and frankly it is too bright for the purpose. I've found even during the day it distracts/blinds oncoming traffic. I have a separate lower end light I use for daylight riding. One thing you must be conscious of is other people and oncoming traffic with this light. It will absolutely blind them on the highest setting. When it comes to oncoming traffic this is not only bad for them, but could be dangerous to you as well since they can't see what they are doing. When I'm riding on a trail, for example, at night and someone is walking towards me I not only set it to the lowest setting but I also swivel the light slightly to the side so it is not shining directly at them. The included mount allows you to easily swivel the light which is a plus for this purpose. Overall this is a great light for night driving.

Good Light

The 1100 boost mode is not much brighter than the 900 mode, however both modes are great off road. The lower modes are fine for going slow while climbing. The beam pattern is good and only seems narrow on switchbacks or sharp turns. Another light on the helmet would fill in those gaps. Battery lasts much longer in the 900 mode than the 1100 boost. This light is good for off road but the 900 non-boost model may be a better value and is lighter and smaller making it better for a helmet light, and is a lot cheaper. I ordered the 900 model for the helmet or to let a friend use but have not used that one yet.

Great light, cycle home in the dark no problem.

This was the light I had been searching for! Great illumination, USB charging. Mounting kit decent and removal of light is ready for charging. I have a dark commute home and this light allows me to cycle at full speed. Great product and after trying a few others that were garbage, in happy o have found this. There is a model up from this one but I've been without the extra features it has. The on button turns red when it needs charged but you still have about 30 minutes power left.

Not a good first impression!

First time purchaser of the brand...and my 1100 Boost arrived with a dead battery. Not a great first impression! Won’t take a charge, red light flashes 3 times when button is pressed. Likely means the voltage dropped too low and the circuitry won’t allow a charge. Requested replacement. EDIT: confirmed with NiteRider, 3x flashing red lights means the battery is toast. Brand new, 60 days after production date, and it’s DOA. Also found out from NiteRider, the 1100 Boosts are made just for Amazon. Not sure if quality specs are lower but it’s $60 cheaper than the regular 1200 Boost from NiteRider themselves! Hmmmm...something seems odd there. EDIT2: received the replacement light, will not take a charge. It turns on but will not charge. Getting a refund.

Mala experiencia

El producto no funcionaba, lo puse a cargar y al llenar la bateria lo encendi pero como se ve en la foto, solo el indicador de encendido aparecia activo, pero la lampara no encendio. Al intentar procesar un cambio por devolucion, la pagina de Amazon me dijo que no podia hacer eso asi es que tuve que devolverlo y esperar 8 dias totales en lo que les llego el producto y me reembolsaron, para poder volverlo a pedir con ese importe.

Solid and bright

This feels like a solid and good quality light although time will tell. This is a seriously bright light! There is no question that I am visible to vehicles now (I commute on bicycle daily). The only reason I have it four stars is because of how the light clips in. You really have to make sure that when you slide the light into the clip/bracket, that it locks in. If not I could totally see the light sliding out and falling/breaking. Oh and this has a limited lifetime warranty. I can totally get on board with a company’s product when they stand by it with a lifetime warranty. This made it good value for money.

no es un producto original!

Desde el momento que llegó mi paquete sabía que algo estaba mal, el empaque de la lámpara estaba maltratado, como si ya hubiera sido devuelto por alguien mas, probé la lámpara y no prendía con la intensidad que debería, la puse a cargar pensando que era la pila, después de 6 hrs de carga seguía presentando el mismo fallo el led prendía pero con muy baja intensidad, menos que la linterna del móvil y al compararla con otra lámpara de la misma marca me di cuenta que el led y la mica del led son muy diferentes a la original, se ve de muy baja calidad hasta el empaque es diferente. Que triste que la ofrezcan al precio de la original.
