Great Compact Stone
Fantastic sharpening stone for approximately $5.00 It's two sided (Coarse & Fine) and does a good job for touch ups in the field and at home. I've noticed a lot of people complain about small sharpening stones such as this one claiming that it's unusable, or too difficult to sharpen knives due to it's small size. This is true if you use the old traditional sharpening method where you stroke the blade down the stone as if trying to cut a thin slice from the stone. This is because you simply won't have enough stone "real estate" to sharpen a blade that is longer than the stone. That is why the best technique to use with small stones is a circular motion. This allows you to sharpen any size blade on any size stone! It's also more sympathetic to the stone AND the steel. Enjoy!

Great stone for pocket knifes!!
Great little sharpening stone. Comes with two sides. Aggressive and fine. Also comes with small plastic yellow case. Some reviews I have read mention this stone is too small however I have found it to be the perfect size for a pocket knife or small filet knife in a pinch. Best to use a mild oil on stone prior to sharpening or at the very least wet stone prior to sharpening. Overall very happy with my purchase! ????????

Better than expected!
This stone is the same as Norton's "sportman stone" but easier to find and about half the cost! It is a great little stone for a tackle box or to leave in the pack for touch ups in the field. The fine side is actually pretty fine unlike most double sided oil stones and leaves a very decent, shaving sharp edge with ease. These aren't pre filled with oil like most of Norton's stones, which for me is a good thing as I prefer to use water instead of oil. At the price I paid ($4) you can't go wrong with these!

Nice, but small.
It does a good job sharpening and it's nice and flat. The two grits are just about perfect. So far it seems to be holding up well, but it's too small for anything around 3" or more. It's only 3" x 1.5".

This is supposed to be for camping, backpacking but ...
This is supposed to be for camping, backpacking but you need a bit of oil to use the stone. Where you going to find out in the wilderness?

NOT true to the size
I was looking for a larger stone and most are only a few inches long and a little over an inch wide so I was very excited to find this one with the product description "Product Dimensions: 0.8 x 5.5 x 3 inches" but that is not at all the size. It's actually 3" long, 1.5" wide, and .5" high. I'm very disappointed and I really need to sharpen my knife so I can't return it and wait for another now. Don't waste your money if you're looking for a larger stone - this isn't it.
