Good swap for Giant Defy road bike if you need a shorter stem

I purchased this for my 2014 Giant Defy 5 road bike, which was slightly too long for me. I was a little nervous about shortening the stem so much, but it's worked really well. I did not remember to weigh the stems before swapping them, but the original and this one felt very similar. I'm so glad I gave this a shot. I had a difficult time finding a frame that fit my long legs and short torso well. This little swap has made the bike much more comfortable for me.

Comfortable at last!

As one other reviewer already stated, I too replaced an adjustable stem on my tri bike. I could never get the adjustable stem to tighten enough to stop slipping and making noise. The adjustable stem was useful to figure out which fixed stem I needed. This stem is rock solid and weighs noticeably less than the adjustable stem I tried. My Trek Equinox came with profile design aero bars. So, this stem looks like it was always part of my bike. Now, the only clicking, creaking, popping, and groaning on my bike is coming from me.

Good for raising height of 26 inch handlebars for more upright position.

Excellent for raising height of 26 inch handlebars and compensating for length of stem. A little on the heavy side.

None-OS stem at the right price

Needed a longer stem for a road bike none-OS handlebar. Hard to find at a reasonable price, but this fitted the requirements, seems robust, light-weight and well-made.

Perfect for my tri bike - this eliminated a 'creeking' noise with my adjustable stem. Rugged and good clamping design.
