Régule correctement la pression et le débit de l'eau vers un système d'irrigation goutte à goutte ; maintenir une pression et un débit d'eau optimaux de 25 psi vers les conduites d'égouttement et les dispositifs émetteurs. Understand What You're Buying

An inexpensive pressure reducer for drip piping. I would’ve actually preferred a model with pipe thread rather than hose thread, but with a few fittings, I worked it into my system. I have very high pressure in my sprinkler system (upwards of 80psi), so for the drip zones, I wanted something to step the pressure down immediately prior to the drip piping. These work perfectly. I only give the 4stars because it is plastic and I question the durability…. But for $5/each… who cares. It was difficult to tell if this product was going to work for my application because there seemed to be so many reviews of people who appear to be using this product for the wrong application. Therefore, I wanted to attempt to assist future buyers. A few notes: 1) This product is not meant to be left under a constant pressure load. Meaning, it should be installed on a side of your system where it only sees pressure when you’re actively watering. I suspect most of the failures noted in reviews are people who left it under pressure 24/7. 2) This is the big one: Many reviewers claim that the product doesn’t work because they hooked up a pressure gauge and saw now drop. Their observation is correct, but that doesn’t mean the product doesn’t work. Here is why: This product will not reduce pressure in a static system; it is a dynamic pressure reducer. Meaning, it uses hydraulic friction to reduce pressure. No water movement (static system) = no friction = no pressure reduction. This also means amount of pressure reduction seen will vary with the amount of flow being drawn. Which leads into the next note: 3) The manufacturer isn’t 100% truthful when they say that the product will reduce your pressure to 25psi. The unit is designed to reduce the pressure to that level under a very specific condition (a combination of input pressure and flow rate). However, they do not state what that optimum condition is. The only thing stated is a maximum flow rate of 20 gpm. All I can offer in this department is my observation that this product is taking a 80 psi input with a flow rate of ~1gpm (~100ft of drip piping with 0.9gph emitters spaced @ 18” on center), and there is no adverse effect to the drip piping. If it can work under those conditions, I think it’ll work for just about anything.

Patience is a virtue

The small drip lines are of little value. I replaced them with a 1/2 drip line and 4 gph flag drip heads. Perfect. Timer. Be patient with initial set up. At first it appeared that only the manual setting worked. Not so. Instead of resetting over and over, set it and wait for next cycle start. Works great. I used this to water my tomatoes while we were on vacation. Temps were over 100 degrees every day here in AZ and the plants looked great on return. Now it is the only watering I do. Absolutely worth the investment.

2 out of 3 parts work

The backflow section only worked the first 10 mins it was on then started leaking profusely. I contacted the manufacturer through the number Amazon provided and was told by the Rainbird rep that I’d have to get and support or replacements from Amazon not them. Amazon doesn’t provide a link attached to this item to do that through them. They refer you back to the manufacturer. The other 2 section work great so far.

If you live in the UK. DO NOT BUY.

If you live in the UK. DO NOT BUY. This is an American product which states is 3/4 inch female threads. However it is not compatible with UK hose or thread pipes of the same 3/4 inch threads. Absolutely useless. Should have looked closer as all the reviews are from Amazon.com. Pointless purchase!

Not compatible with common watering systems

I expected the outlet to be compatible with Hozelock and Gardinia watering systems unfortunately the thread size is wrong. No problem, I thought, as it can be returned for a refund. Wrong as it came from Europe no return available. So beware before you order.

Installed may 20th, its July 17th now, unit is cracked, cant use

the connection where the washer is, leaked and I was afraid that I would break it if I kept tightening it, the washer wasn't very thick, so I used a thicker one, I put some Vaseline on the washer to help seal better. I had a hard time getting it not to leak, but finally it was ok. July 17th saw water leaking, the connection to the supply cracked and is now useless!

Leaks after one season

The media could not be loaded. This worked great for the first couple of months that I used it....Stored this in my house over the winter, took great care of it. And now that I need it for this season, it leaks when the system runs.
