DESCRIPTION DU PRODUIT Reach Barrier 3016 Kit d'isolation pour chauffe-eau.

Terrific!
This product is easy to work with. Covered my entire hot water heater. Good purchase.

Easier to install than expected
My gas water heater is in an unheated space, so I bought this kit to help with heat loss. This insulation kit was less expensive than other kits available, I assumed this would be because the wrap material was thinner. It was slightly thinner than other insulation wrap I previously used. I had some thicker wrap left from another project, enough to make a "disk" for the top of the heater, rather than fold over the edges of the top layer of the material per the instructions. This allowed me to used the 24" roll hight to make two wraps around the heater and finish with the bottom just above the air vents. The material itself went on easily. It stayed in place as I taped it on, making my cuts a around the various items as I went. This was a challenging installation as I only have access to the heater on two sides. The material was flexible enough to get around obstructions, but stayed in place once attached with the included tape. There seems to plenty of material to completely cover a standard size heater. I did run out of tape just as I finished, but did use extra tape around the earthquake strapping, so I believe there is also enough tape for most applications.

Plenty of product to wrap a 40/50 gallon tank. No messy fiberglass. Installed on an electric heater
Just put in a new 40 gallon hot water heater. Used this wrap today. Had plenty of material to cover the tank with plenty of over wrap. The tape you get is fair. As long as everything is clean it should stick and hold. We shall see. I keep my basement around 72. Once I put the wrap on completely. I could feel heat coming off the top of the water heater. I did do the pizza cutting process for the top as recommended and I think some additional insulation would help on the top side since heat rises. All I used was scissors, utility knife, and a tape measure.

Ok
It’s better than the deteriorated insulation that I had but, the insulation is warm to the touch, so how good can it be? It was easy to install and not that expensive so…..

Make sure you take the time to do it right (UPDATE: and buy different tape)
Break out your scissors and measuring tape, you are in for a crafting project. It does take some patience and precision to install correctly, but the end result is good. Allocate 1/2 hour for the installation. The product comes with ample insulation to cover a hot water heater (I had some left over). The silver tape roll that comes with the product was sticky enough to hold the insulation but wasn't quite long enough to do the full job. Overall, if you are the type who doesn’t mind spending the time to do something right, you’ll probably like this product. UPDATE: After being installed 2 weeks I notice that the silver tape is coming undone anywhere there is a corner or a fold. The tape just isn't made to last the test of time. I'll be looking to order some different tape to re-do the areas the tape is coming un-stuck.

Keeps water heater warm
Could tell a difference immediately in as much as water heater kicking on. Takes a little time to install as you will need tape measure, some type of marker and scissors. Pretty easy to install just measure and take your time when taping and press tape to get good adhesion.

Seems ok. A little thin
Another "get what you pay for" situation. It was easy enough to trim and tape onto the heater. But the material is thin and you can feel heat through it. It must be better than nothing, though. I hate fiberglass but I would get it if it was the only step up from this one.
