Great deal and solid design
Review: I really enjoy these snowshoes! The pros are that the frame is made of high strength aluminum and the deck is made of polyethylene. Polyethylene is a plastic material that is lightweight and is resistant to extreme temperatures so the deck isn't going to warp or break down in the cold. I use these for weekend snowshoeing in the PNW mountains (so not in Antarctica in sub zero temps). I appreciate that the deck can flex with my weight so I can hike on powder and with a solid set of crampons. The straps over the toe box are a crimpdown type while the heel strap is super easy to unclip, making these snowshoes easy to get off on while also providing a strong connection to the shoes themselves. I suppose the con is these snowshoes are a tad big in general so they can feel somewhat wide at first, but the trade off is you can go over powder with confidence. This product comes with a bag to store the shoes and a pair of really good trekking poles (a variety of baskets and or tips for the poles is included). I have used these 2 or 3 times and have not had any issues yet. I did buy the 30 inch deck (read the weight suggestions) as I weigh close to 215 lbs. Overall 5 out of 5 stars great price and a solid design.

Impressive quality for the price
It has not snowed deeply enough since I received these to have been able to test them in real snow, but so far this pair of snowshoes seems very competent. I've used snowshoes a few times before but have always rented from shops when the weather was right, and I have not used them in the last 4 years. The snowshoes come with a pair of hiking sticks and a very nice storage bag which holds everything well with plenty of room left over. One wall of the bag is mesh to allow water and ice to evaporate, which is a nice touch. The hiking sticks worked just fine. No directions were included with the package; I was able to attach the shoes using an image from the listing, but if you are giving these as a gift or might not have internet/phone service when you first use them, you may want to print out the relevant details. Each snowshoe has three straps: two ridged plastic straps to go over the top of the foot, and a webbed strap (nylon?) to hold the back of the foot in place. I ordered the 30" pair, and in my EUR size 42 hiking boots, I had several inches of each strap left over. I felt the straps might have been pitched just a tad too far forward for me--my heel was nearly off the plate--but still very usable, and could only be better for people with larger feet. The latches for the two plastic straps take some fiddling the first time but are easy to tighten and release once you know how they work. I'm slightly skeptical of the durability of the plastic straps and latches, but these snowshoes are less than half the cost of most shoes available from standard sports recreation retailers, so will be worth it even if they only last a few seasons. I'd definitely recommend these as a beginning pair.

Fun beginner showshoes!
I have wanted snowshoes for a long time. Unfortunately, we haven't had much snow at all this winter, so I can't comment on how much flotation these snowshoes would give in deep snow. I ordered the 30" size because I'm right at the top end of the recommended weight scale, so this could be an important limitation. Unlike some other snowshoes, these do not have the right and left foot labeled, so you have to figure that out (you want the excess straps to go towards the outside of your foot, so you don't trip on them). There are no directions on how to use these in the package, but I found them intuitive and easy to put on. Your foot must be positioned so that the ball of your foot lies directly over the crampon, with your boot placed such that the toes of the boot can easily dip into the front cutout area when you walk. After placing your foot in the correct position, fasten and tighten the toe and instep straps, then clip on and adjust the webbing heel strap last. The foot size on the 30" snowshoes easily fits my ladies' size 11 boots, and it could easily accommodate much larger shoes. I'm not so sure it would work well for people with feet significantly smaller than mine, so keep that in mind when choosing the correct size to order. These snowshoes come with everything you need, including a pair of adjustable trekking poles, a variety of trekking pole feet suitable for different kinds of terrain, and a handy zippered soft-sided carry bag made of durable cordura-type fabric. The ice cap color is a lovely aqua blue that shows up nicely against the snow. I found these really fun to use and look forward to trying them out in deeper snow.

Use it or Lose it.
The Retrospec Drifter snowshoes and trekking poles bundle is good for hiking in the winter. The snowshoes are strong and have sharp claws for grip. The poles can be made shorter or longer and are easy to hold. The bundle is tough and will last a long time.

Nice
These are my first snow shoes. Super cute! I got the 25” up to 200 lbs. I was so excited to get these and then we had a major snow melt in lower Michigan so will have to wait for the next storm. They are pretty easy to figure out how to strap boots in. The poles are fully adjustable. It comes with a case to store them in. These do not come with any instructions. There are a couple photos in description above that help with how to clamp boots in and when the different pole accessories are used. I really wanted to have an insert with some information. How to clamp boots in, using pole accessories, max weight, what height poles should be at and when to use the lift under heal would be nice. Yes, some of this is on the order page but if given as gift you don’t necessarily want to send them to your order page to look it up. Max weight is 200 pounds for the ones I ordered. I’m going to research on how to snowshoe while I wait for the next snowstorm. Will update after I get to use them. Well no snow to use in. Darn. We bought a cottage up north so anticipating next winter!

Nice snowshoe set
For the price, this is a very nice snowshoe set. The addition of a storage bag is very nice. And the trekking poles will be handy both for winter and summer hikes. Overall a good buy!
