Very, very accurate (& nice to look at) green-backlit alarm clock

I bought this "Equity’s 2” Digital LCD Alarm Clock with Night Vision Model# 30041" and also a "Equity by La Crosse 70904 Soft Purple Cube LCD Alarm Clock" (unreviewed) at the same time. And I lucked out on the former's accuracy; _this_ 30041 looks to gain about ten seconds a year. Given that I could be changing the batteries every year or so, that's fantastic. By contrast, the 70904 projects to lose about about two and a half minutes per year, good enough for a _too-bright_ alarm clock (but not enough to even bother reviewing it). There's a switch on the bottom that toggles "the usual" (hit the snooze bar for a bright backlight on the LCD display) and the "night-vision" setting, a quite-soft backlight that runs when the photocell on the (far left side of the) top sees darkness; the extra nightly power drain is undoubtedly why the clock requires three AA batteries (and the first battery is awkwardly located behind the second & third). But you can toggle off that backlight, and I expect get more than a year of use out of a set of AAs. The switches all "feel good", and the display of alarm time may or may not be useful (I can't decide if losing that display real-estate is worth it). However, the month/day display lacks a day-of-the-week addition, something that could have been programmed as you need to enter the year (for Feb 29th calculations) in setup. And the 24-hr works with no indicators; there are both AM & PM ones if you prefer 12-hr displays. For $20 this is easily the best alarm clock I've purchased. Note that it may not be a particularly good travel alarm (how are you going to protect the display?), but for that I've got the good-enough Purple-Cube guy. PROs: Fantastic accuracy, pretty to look at, optional soft green display all night (at the price of some battery life), and it's a battery clock so AC power failures won't affect. CONs: Awkward to get to the third AA battery, probably not that suitable for a travel alarm, and the "date" part of the display could have used a day-of-the-week. Would I buy again? You bet!

Lasts for years

I bought one for our living room so we could see the time in the dark. The other for my mom's bedroom & a third I was going to use for my bedroom but there was something wrong with the contrast. It has a soft green glow in the dark display. Not too bright so it doesn't keep you awake. The numbers are big enough to read across the room. We never use the alarm so I can't speak to that. Battery operated. Have had for over six years & still works fine.

Best clock for the money. Super easy to set up

I bought one of the these when I first joined Amazon many years ago and after so many years it finally started to fall apart and I knew I wanted another. This clock is so easy to set up and use. It has a cool light that is bright enough to see in the dark but doesn't disturb your eyes. Big numbers to see as well. It's easy to set up, just takes a minute and after set the alarm goes off is easy to wake up to and has the snooze button within reach. Lightweight for travel. Highly recommend this.

Easy to read, easy to use battery operated alarm clock

It’s a very nice choice if you’re looking for an alarm clock that doesn’t require electricity. Numbers are large and easy to read. It’s easy to set the time and alarm. It has large buttons that are up front and easy to use. It was a very good price and seller ships very quickly. Very satisfied with this purchase. I must be since I reordered two more.
