100% cuir.

Runs Small
The quality of the shoe is great and I will be reordering a larger size. Purchasing for my daughter who wears size 11US street size. After scouring the internet for guidance on this brand I purchased 2 sizes bigger than street, not 1 as is on product page and was still slightly tight. Will go ahead with ordering the 14 as the quality of materials and construction seems really good. Would recommend ordering 2 sizes bigger than street size for most persons.

Sansha size 12 N shoes review
I am not a ballet dancer. I just like to wear these around the house like slippers. They keep my feet warm and after awhile the leather molds perfectly to my feet. So I might like my slippers a bit looser than a real ballerina would, so keep that in mind. I am a woman's size 8-9 (US sizing) in most shoes. Typically an 8 1/2. I went to an actual store and tried these on to get the right size. My old pair wore out so I ordered them here. So I knew the sizing beforehand. I need a size 12 for these to be comfortable. An 11 would probably be fine also, if I were dancing in them. I have AAA narrow feet (as narrow as they come!) so I order the N (narrow) version. They fit my feet very well. A little (tiny smidge) wide in the toes. I would recommend trying different brands and sizes on in a ballet store and then sneaking away and ordering off Amazon if you can. Also, if you care, these shoes have a matte leather look. My old Sansha pair (same brand, size) are a more shiny leather. Could be use caused the leather to shine more, but I doubt it. The matte look is very nice, and gives the slippers a more light pink look. It is leather for sure. Not canvas.

A decent dance class shoe...
I have tried many brands including Bloch and Capezio. These shoes I would rate as "just acceptable". First of the fit is not that great - they are loose around the arch area and the toe is too round and doesn't give your toes good definition. The leather they use is quite strange - at first appearances they look like they're made from pleather not actual natural leather. After a little bit of wear the glossy surface of the leather starts flaking away and you can see the "real leather" below it. The leather never seems to soften up and conform to the shape of your foot. The insides of the shoes are crudely made and are not comfortable to wear without socks or tights. I would possibly recommend these shoes to a beginner for use in dance class and not for performances. If I wanted a good quality shoe that fits extremely well and is comfortable to wear I'd buy the Capezio Romeos.

RUNS SMALL!!!!
I read all the reviews before I purchased my slippers about how they run small. I normally wear a 7-7 1/2 shoe, so I went with the size 8, thinking that I would be ordering up enough for it to fit. Boy was I wrong. It was way too small in the big toe, and dug into my heel. I do like that the straps are custom fit to your feet (downside is that you have to do it yourself). I will be re-ordering in a size 9 as soon as I have some extra spending money. I gave the smaller size to a friend with smaller feet (size 6 1/2), and they fit her perfectly. If you order, order at least a full size up, if not a size and a half.

Not what they used to be
First off, i have been wearing Sansha for years. So here are my complaints: 1) the nude tone that it used to be had changed significantly to be a more orangy/pink. 2) in the photo the elastic are unsewn which i prefer but upon receipt the elastic are sewn already. 3) normally, the sizing is off by 2 sizes i wear an 8.5 street shoe but 11 in Sansha. But now the toe has too much excess material where the leather is gathered. So overall slipper is not what it used to be. very disappointed.

The 8W fits comfortably if I were fitting a street shoe but it ...
I wear 6.5W to 7M in most street shoes, and as suggested by many reviewers I ordered 1-1.5 sizes larger. The 8W fits comfortably if I were fitting a street shoe but it is not snug enough for ballet so I will have to try a 7. I also ordered a Bloch Prolite Hybrid for comparison and the 5 C/D is about the same length as the Sansha 8W but noticeably narrower. The color of the Sansha is a duller, more muted pink, and the leather is sturdy but not as soft as the Bloch. Also, the insole is very narrow at the arch (the shoe itself is wide enough but the inserted insole is narrow) and much thinner than in the Bloch.

Beautiful Shoe, runs small
I was hesitant to order shoes online, but because I have a large foot I knew I wouldn't be able to be sized anywhere. I ordered a full two sizes larger than my street shoe size (I have wide feet and wanted to err on the side of caution) and they are a tad snug still. They are usable, and I'm hoping that as I break them in they will stretch a bit. Other than that, they are beautiful! The color is nice, they give nice lines to the foot. I will update if I notice any wear or tear issues as I use them.

Order 1/2 - 1 size up
I have high arches and a wide forefoot. I usually wear size 8.5 in street shoes, but know Sansha runs small. My foot is 4" across the metatarsals so I ordered the 9W and it fits great. Roomy enough not to restrict my foot (Capezios are so narrow, the ball of my foot sometimes creases) but snug enough that they will stretch to fit my foot with some time. The canvas insert along the arch hugs the line of my foot and stays flush with my arch through every position. It's a very flattering shoe. Elastics are included and are attached only at the heel, so you can sew them into place as best fits your foot.
