Very nice tape dispenser

Very nice tape dispenser was a great value very durable heavy enough to pull the tape and rip it off. It doesn’t drag across the desk overall very happy with it. I would highly recommend it.

Easy to Use with Attached Hub

Getting ready for Christmas in my home, means wrapping. Wrapping means tape. And, after getting a few rolls this week, I went looking for my tape dispenser since my handheld one was too small for the rolls I got (the Scotch brand ½ - 1296 inch ones). But, I’d lost the “hub” (black center piece that holds the roll). Having an Amazon gift card balance, I opted to first look for the hubs. Couldn’t find them (and didn’t want to shell out too much money). Instead, I found this tape dispenser (at the time less than $5 with tax). And, it had a BONUS – attached tape hub. My mother (now retired) used to order office supplies at the hospital where she worked. After some of her co-workers kept throwing the hubs away or losing them – she decided to order some tape dispensers with attached hubs – much like this one. And, she was quite pleased with them – as that stopped a lot of “losses”. With Prime shipping, I decided to order it. Glad I did! I’m absolutely thrilled with this. It’s small, fits on a crowded desk and works! Bonuses: * Has enough sand to weight it down, but not so much I can’t hold it in my hand * It fits my roll! Silly me, I did get the ½ inch tape (1296 in) rather than the ¾, but it still works (both tape and dispenser) * Ease of use. This thing is easy to use! And, I’ve had a LOT of different tape dispensers over the decades. * The attached hub! LOVE it. After inserting the roll, my mother decided to look at the dispenser and loved it! She also provided a helpful hint with this – MAKE SURE THE HUB IS SNAPPED INTO PLACE. You should hear the SNAP when you push it down. Otherwise, the roll is going to bounce up and down (maybe even fall off) every time you use it. This is slim and actually snazzy looking, especially for the price I paid. I’ve put it to use in prepping for Christmas and haven’t been disappointed. If I am – I’ve got the 30 day return window. And, no – in most cases, the tape NEVER comes with a dispenser. If it is part of a package deal; then most likely. But, even on this box it clearly indicates that tape is not included. It’s shown with tape so the customer can see how it looks and how to gauge it for their personal use. If anyone bought it as a package deal - tape and dispenser, and didn't get either one - that is more of a customer service issue than product issue. I'd immediately contact the seller for a refund and/or replacement. If that doesn't work - contact Amazon. I’m pretty pleased, and if this remains at a low price – I might get a few more after the holidays.

BE AWARE if you buy this product, the tape rolls are NOT included

I like the tape dispenser. It does its job, which really, is a simple job. It holds and cuts tape. Not much to say there. The reason for my 3 star review is the misleading nature of the photos. It appeared (and shame on me for not reading ALL the fine print) that this tape dispenser came with several rolls. It does not. It is an empty tape dispenser. Now, my office happens to have a couple of these rolls of tape floating around so this isn't a huge deal. I would recommend amazon take the photo of the tape dispenser next to several brand new rolls of tape next to it off the website. Or just include the tape! I mean come on Bezos. You're a billionaire. You're not going broke including a few rolls of tape to get us common folk started with our new Scotch tape dispenser.

Great Product!

I love this tape dispenser. I have one at work and now at home. Came in really handy while wrapping presents for Christmas. Also, it arrived at my house within 48 hours just as I was running out of tape! I’m set for awhile now. Highly recommend !

I like the mechanism that flips up and you can put the roll of tape on it and you just flip it right back down. I never seen a tape dispenser do that. That is one of the biggest reasons that sold me on this tape dispenser. Thank you.

Great product!

This tape dispenser looks much classier than the standard "office desk" variety and it is surprisingly heavy and sturdy! On top of that, I got it one of the Amazon deals, so I paid a fraction of what I would be willing to pay for this very pleasing product.

♫ The things, it tapes; It's so Indispensible! ♫

I'll admit, other than when I need to tape up something, I rarely give thought to the design of a tape dispenser. If I do, it is usually because A) the tape won't tear off properly, or B) the dispenser isn't heavy/balanced enough and falls on my foot when I just want to tape a dang letter shut. Oh, and I forgot, the biggest one: when your drop-in roll dispenser somehow comes out along with the ribbon of tape that you wanted! So, my search began. I will try to keep this simple because, lets be honest, who wants to read the "Moby Dick" of reviews about a tape dispenser? Thus, the highlights: * The price. $2.99 for this thing is a steal! I removed one star though; it certainly weighs enough to ship on its own, so I have no idea why this needs to be an add-on item for Amazon to include it with free shipping. * The base is fairly heavy and has two large, textured rubber pads that cover nearly the entire surface. Thus, between the weight of the dispenser itself, as well as the resistance from the pads, it stays put when you pull a length of tape and tear it off. The added bonus: the padding on the bottom will protect your desk surface and also enable you to use this dispenser on a glass-topped desk/table with no worries. * Okay folks, this is the coolest part and what makes the Silvertech better than the standard drop-in style desktop dispensers. In order to load the Silvertech, you hook your finger under the spool that holds the tape roll and gently tug upward. This pulls out an entire side panel where you can feed the tape onto the spool, press it back against the plastic panel (kind of like fitting a tire onto its mount within the wheel well of a car), and then push the entire assembly back down into the body of the tape dispenser until your hear it click. The roll of tape is now locked securely within the Silvertech with no possibility of it slipping loose! Conclusion While it stunk having to wait until I had $25 worth of items to order, it was definitely worth it. I am currently using 3/4" Scotch Transparency tape and having no issues in regard to the performance of the dispenser. The cutting blade is sharp and the tape dispenses smoothly with no snags. With the weight and rubber guards I have been able to just pull of the tape that I wanted without having to hold the tape dispenser to prevent it from moving (such a wonderful change from what I had), and without the fear of my desktop being scratched. In the end, if you are looking for an attractive tape dispenser that keeps the tape in the dispenser, is heavy enough to remain in place but has padding to protect your desktop surfaces, can accommodate both 1/2" and 3/4" tape widths, and gets the job done, all while only costing $3? I'd call that one heck of a deal.

Es un producto hecho en China (como casi todo en nuestros días) y parece ser de buena calidad con material también de buena calidad. La razón por la que le doy 4 estrellas es porque no es tan pesado como esperaba que fuera. Tengo otro dispensador de la misma marca que adquirí hace muchos años ya y es casi el doble de pesado que este. La razón por la que necesito que sea pesado es porque al estirar la cinta cuando uno está trabajando, normalmente la otra mano está ocupada con otra cosa y, por lo tanto, el dispensador debe tener la suficiente estabilidad por su peso para que no se mueva cuando uno toma y corta la cinta. Como digo, es sólo bastante bueno, no excelente.

I bought 2 of them

Sorry but i am not impressed. The roll lifts out of the cradle each time you use the tape. It's a real pain in the neck. For regular scotch tape it's not as bad, but still does it. I am using it for heat resistance tape and it pops out all the time. So annoying.

Disappointed

I was shocked to see all the sand & it was completely cracked / broken - a complete mess. I would not recommend to anyone. I wish I had read the negative reviews - but as others have said - all the sand made a mess & it looked like it was cracked - dropped. Had no choice but to throw it out.
