Improved outboard motor flush muffs gives good flow for longer runs out of the water.

I bought this to replace my older one sided water flow muff. I wanted to make sure of getting plenty of cooling water while fixing my outboards. Only problem is a little bit of spray. But still lots of cooling and a good strong tell-tale (pisser) and output flow.

Easy to put on and works great

Used this on my 90hp Mercury after the engine stopped peeing with the old one. Easy to apply and worked great! Should have bought a new one ages ago.

Verify the size you need to make sure it will work with your outdrive, there are multiple available.

There are apparently 2 version of these, and one is longer than the other. I haven't had any problems with the actual operation of the unit, it attaches to the drive unit well, and holds its place. The only issue I have, is from me not educating myself on the available sizes. For a volvo penta sx outdrive on a Crownline with a 5.0GX, this unit is too short to reach the water inlet ports when ran from the front (bow side) of the drive unit pushing back towards the propeller. It's about 4" short of reaching the water inlet ports. I found I can run it from the propeller side of the drive up to the water ports, but that does not allow you to put the boat into drive or reverse while running, as the prop would chop up and damage the flush unit. Had I purchased the longer version, I'm sure it would have been fine. Regardless, it still works, and I still use it to flush out the engine after a lake trip. Just can't put the boat in drive or reverse while using it, and that's my fault.

I find that a garage can is better

I used it once on my 20 Hp Tohatsu, it worked ok. It seems to be well built. However I use my boat in salt water where I like to use a Saltaway flush; I throw a couple cap fulls in a garbage can with water and it does a better job. I’m not real sure but I think running a garden hose for 10 minutes might be using too much water…plus I can use the extra Saltaway water more than once and use it to clean my boat’s haul…

Long Term review a bit long but thorough in my opinion.

I purchased this Flusher 11 months ago and have been using it just about every weekend since. Great purchase and would Recommend to a friend. the pisser comes out stronger with these than it does with the one you get at Wal-Mart, clearly more water flow do to the dual tube design. However there are what I consider negatives to the product in terms of long term use, if you find a year considered long term. The muffs from the get go don't like to stay on to tight especially if your motor moves around on its mount, this could be because I have a 99 Mariner 90hp and its a bit of a child getting a hair cut. may possible be my situation only. Id just keep an eye on em do to having one time where I left the motor on a flush and went inside for a beer. bit shortly after a knock on the door from my neighbor saying "your muffs fell off and that motors been running dry for a few minutes". But that may have been my fault do to walking away. One would think the suction of the motor would keep em on there. Guess not, only happened once though. And last is a no brainer and most likely would happen do to age and material of the product which once again resulted to no water going to the motor for a short period of time. the part that screws on to the hose is a 2 part fitting. one is a free spinning part that screws on the hose the other is a housing for that said part which then connects to the tubes and etc. The Screw on portion ejected out of the housing resulting in water starvation to the engine. The hose screwed portion is connected and sealed with what seems to be a standard silicone sealant in which quality is sub par. A simple fix was to remove the old and add a better quality marine grade sealant. It has been a month since the repair and its nice and tight in its housing while still spinning freely. this has been a fix to my said negatives so far and may have just been a problem tailored to my use. Other than that the product is awesome for the price, as always you get what you pay for. Thanks for taking the time to read my review.

Worked for Yamaha VF115

This worked fine for our Yamaha VF115 SHO. I little leakage at the tips, but plenty of water to run the engine for 5+ minutes to do the oil change.

This marine motor flusher works well.

I have a 2021 model Mercury 9.9 H.P. outboard motor that I bought this for. I was concerned about fit and quality but as it turns out, it worked fine. Not cheaply made and will last a long time if you take care of it.

Made for larger motors.

This model is made for bigger outboard motors. 50 hp and up. It delivers lots of water to both ports and has a good seal that's big enough to cover both ports completely. It's the model you see a lot of pros using to demonstrate how to flush or winterize your motor. Works great. Glad I bought it.
