Good value, small flaws

This stove does what we want. 2/3 grill, 1/3 burner meets our cooking style. The sheet metal is a bit inexact (the right hand wind shield fits right in, the left requires some gentle convincing, and in fact the connection method could be a lot better). Cleaning isn’t great in that the splash shields aren’t removable, and the drip tray is small. Overall, though, a decent product for the money.

Controlling the temperature is much easier than with other grills.

The grill fits in the confined storage space of our Class B motorhome. It is easy to clean.

The perfect camping cooking stove

Just what we needed for our week camping at Moab. Used this a couple times a day and never let us down. We like that it uses the lid and sides as wind blocker so you can use during windy conditions. Highly recommend.

Defective

Stove arrived with a factory defect: the left side of the lid is welded to the base, so it can't be opened (believe me, I even tried a crowbar). Returned and ordered a replacement, exact same issue. I'm returning and replacing one more time before I give up on the product entirely.

Nice grill, terrible grilling surface.

The one weakness in this otherwise fine grill is the grilling surface. It is stamped from thin metal and could easily be bent in half. Non stick surface is poor and has several rivets making it very difficult to clean. After cooking burgers on it and soaking it there were carbon deposits I could not remove and I literally had to scrape carbon off the rivets with my fingernails. It still isnt clean. The last portable grill I had was 5 years ago, a Coleman with nearly identical features and a very solid cooking surface, but recent reviews said the Coleman switched to a cheaper grilling surface. Otherwise the Stansport has ample heat that is very adjustable.

great little stove!

its a great little stove! well built and the steel is thicker then expected. can fit 5 to 6 burgers on the grill heat control is in the first 1/4 turn of the knob. igniter only works for grill side .. would buy again!
