Perfect for Quilting and Crafts
This iron is the perfect iron for pressing seems and fusing . I have not had any issues with losing heat. I use it and by the time I sit it down and adjust my fabric, it is super hot again. It sits back in the cradle with little force. It takes up very little space on my sewing table next to my table top ironing board. The only time I get my corded out is if I am going to press several yards at a time. The auto shut off is perfect for my ADD and when it does shut off, I just remove and replace to the cradle real quick and I am ready to go in 30 seconds. I can't speak on how it would do with ironing clothes, I use the dyer for that ;-).

easy to store
When I buy an iron, it is always difficult to store it, but this one has a case, so it is convenient to store it. If I have to point out a downside, the size is a little smaller than regular irons

Awesome iron
Works just as well as the high dollar irons. I love the fact there's no cord to worry about. It sits there until I need it, so I can use it next to my sewing machine. It has all the same features as the expensive irons. I'm very happy with my purchase

Worth waiting for! But how small is it?
After being out of stock for a while I finally got it! I've been using a smaller Steamfast iron for years but always hated the cord getting in the way. My main iron is a cordless Panasonic 360 cordless and I love it but it's too big to be handy for classes, retreats and use beside the machine. So I was surprised to find the cordless Steamfast SF-760. Like its smaller sibling, it heats fast. Some reviews said it didn't hold heat very long. I can't comment to that because I use it beside my machine to press seams as I piece. For that it's great! It holds the heat and the non stick sole is very slick. So performance gets 5 stars. I read all the reviews yet no one mentioned the size other than to say 'smaller. So this review is basically to provide sizes in case anyone else needs to know. As you can see in the comparison photo, it's not much larger than the SF-717. The sole plate of the cordless 760 measures 3.75" wide at the widest and is 7" long. 1" of that is the very pointy tip. For Comparison, the smaller 717 is 2 7/8" wide and 5" long. The other photo shows it in my hand. I hope that helps answer the actual size question. 10 stars for size!

Great for quilting
This is a great little iron, but don’t expect to press a large piece of fabric. It’s more of a press-n-go device. It stays hot 30-45 seconds - just long enough to press a quilt block. It’s a little bigger than a travel iron and gives more than enough heat and steam to press seams flat. Safe, because if you forget to unplug, it turns off after a couple of minutes. Heats up faster than a regular iron. Really convenient for smaller crafting projects.

pros and cons
it doesn't heat consistently and loses heat quickly however it is very lightweight. and warms back up very fast

Not Impressed, not suitable for quilters
This cordless iron is light weight, slim design and has a neat carrying case. However I have some major issues with the design features and functionality. 1. The temperature dial is not in a great location. When grabbing the iron, my fingers often hit the dial and changes the settings to a cooler temp. I have small hands too. So the opening for the handle needs to be larger or the dial moved to the side. 2. It does heat up quickly (about 7 seconds to the hottest setting). BUT The hottest setting is really not that hot. I have to press down on the fabric to really press out the wrinkles or continually hit the steam burst every time. The continuous steam is not effective. 3. The iron cools off WAY too fast and has to be recharged on the docking station. Only hot for about 20 seconds and then still warm for about 10 more seconds, but not hot enough to produce steam or press wrinkles. 4. The docking station is too light weight. It's easy to bump it around when trying to dock the iron 5. The connection on the docking station is too cumbersome. I have to either click it down onto the pins with my thumb or roll it down rather forcefully on the rollers to sit properly on the pins for it to engage and reheat. Both actions generally take both hands to get it fully engaged which makes me take both hands off my project. 6. The heating plate will not roll over and press a seam to one side like a normal iron. I'm not sure if it's be cause of the light weight or the shape of the heating plate, but I can't iron seams over with one hand. 7. And it is cordless in the fact that I'm not dragging a cord across my fabric that I just pressed. But cordless to me indicates it has an battery pack in/on the device, like most cordless appliances. For these reasons, this is NOT a good cordless iron for a quilter in my opinion, and therefore returning it after just one day of trial use. It may work just fine for home use such as clothing, but that was not my intended purpose.

Not really cordless
I was disappointed after receiving item because it’s not fully cordless. The iron doesn’t have a cord but you have to keep it on the charging stand which has to be plugged in for it to work and stay warm. So once it’s warm you take it off start ironing your clothes for maybe a min or so then you have to sit it back on the stand to warm back up to use it again. So that was really disappointing. I was hoping to have one that was 100% cordless with a battery pack or something like that. It’s misleading to call this cordless. Other than that it works great. I really like the carrying case it comes with.
