Convenient 5 volt 2.4 amp USB charging outlet

The description of this charging outlet seems to be causing confusion for some people. It is a quick charging outlet compared to older 5 volt low amperage usb chargers. However this is not a quick charge USB outlet that supports quick-charge technologies such as Qualcomm or IQ fast charging at voltages greater than 5 volts or greater than 2.4 amps. I have found this USB charging outlet to be of good quality, easy installation, and reliable service. If anyone doesn't find the included installation instructions to the adequate then they really have no business removing the cover plate off of an electrical outlet. This outlet is a simple 3 wire installation using the standard hot, neutral, and ground found in modern homes. This outlet does require a full depth box so be aware of that before ordering. Some older USB chargers can be as low as 500 to 850 milliamp output. This USB outlet charger lives up to the current 5 volt 2 amp standard slightly exceeding that at 2.4 amps maximum output when using only one of the USB outlets. This USB outlet charger is limited to 4 amps maximum output when using both USB outlets simultaneously. I can use both the electrical outlets and the USB charging outputs at the same time when using standard electrical plugs but anything larger like a transformer type electrical plug may block the USB outlets.

Works great, but can be a tight fit during installation

Overall, a fantastic idea. Really cleans up the area compared to having charging bricks and outlet splitters. I get "Rapidly Charging" on my first-gen Google Pixel, which is great. The included accessories like the Micro USB cables are a nice touch too. Installation was a bit interesting. If you have a deep work box, installation is a cinch. It took me about ten minutes to remove an outlet, shorten and restrip the hot and neutral cables, and install the new outlet. If you're using a work box with a smaller depth, you will have to wrestle the outlet in even after shortening the cables. That frustration took a star off since I wasn't expecting that kind of difficulty. Also related to the installation, I didn't use the included faceplates as they don't match with the rest of the outlets in the house. Instead, I bought the larger metal kinds from Mulberry at my local Home Depot for about 70 cents each. No compatibility issues as expected.

Very Nice UL Listed High Speed USB Outlet!

Really a good product. As others have stated there appears to be minimal current leakage or use of electricity with no product plugged in. The USB ports are located well so that the other AC plugs aren't interfered when plugging in other things. USB appears to charge my smart phones at a rate that's similar to my 2.0A USB Adapters, so pretty quick if not faster even. Most of all I really appreciate that these Outlets are UL Listed for safety. Following the instructions for installation provided easy replacement of the old outlets as I had plenty of space since the outlets that I replaced all had electrical boxes. You will need to work on some of the wire management if you want to the Top Greener Outlet as the Top Greener unit is similar in size to some GFCI outlets. Overall very happy with these and don't have USB Power Adapters sticking out everywhere making the space look "cleaner".

Decent product, but very deep

I couldn't install this product in one location because it is so deep that I couldn't fit it into the junction box with all the other wires that were in there. It fits fine if the AC lines terminate at that junction box, but if the AC line splits off or daisy-chains to another location, there may not be enough room.

Good build quality but won't quick charge certain devices

I assumed with the advertised high amp output that this would charge my Google Nexus 6P quickly, like the wall wart that came with the phone. After installing the receptacle and trying out my phone on it, I'm sorry to say it doesn't. It is not showing the "charging rapidly" message, only "charging" and definitely isn't charging as quick based on a 1% increase in battery charge after being plugged in for 3 or 4 minutes. But after researching this a bit more, it appears to be due to a phone limitation when using a USB to USB type c cable. So not a reflection on this receptacle but something to be aware of.

Awesome product, tight fit.

These things are pretty awesome. They are easy to install and they have USB fast charge ports. They would have received a 5 star rating from me except that they are a little bit big for the electrical boxes that are probably in your house. They fit, but they are a tight fit. I have one of these with a usb Bluetooth receiver and some computer speakers serving as a media center in my front room and I still have a useable outlet and a place to plug in my phone. It's very nice.

Fits well in standard outlet box

Received the twin pack today and installed the outlets right away. Each receptacle comes with 2 cover plates (clip-on and screw-on). Both fit well. 2 short USB cables (Type A to Micro) are also included. No problem fitting in standard outlet boxes. Internal dimensions are about: Height 2-5/8", Width 1-3/4" and Depth 1-3/8" (see pictures). Attaching the ground wire can be a bit difficult as the available space is tight. I did not get a full loop around, but the wire is still secure. Charged my phone just like the original charger. Amps drop towards the end of the charging cycle, which is normal. Overall a great product and I hope it will last long.

Overall this is a good product.

Overall this is a good product. It was just a bit huge for the electrical box so sometimes I have to push a bit to go all the way inside. Other than that this is winner!

Liked the functionality. Doesn't fit traditional boxes. Too deep. You will need to replace your box.
