Works great. Automatically shows the positions of each car by number of laps. These Carrera products aren't cheap, but they're well made and they work perfectly.

Nice to have accessory

It is a nice to have accessory for your track set up, but not imprescindible once you have the lap counter or the Bluetooth connection with the Carrera App.

Does its job.

Does its job, but becomes obsolete it you have the Bluetooth dongle and are taking your lap times and positions on a smart phone/tablet.

Nice and bright

Nice and bright. Looks cool. Probably the first accessory someone should pick up. Lap counter goes to 99 and rolls over back to zero... Just so you know it will count all ghost cars as the same ghost car in regards to laps. Also the ghost car is listed as driver 7.

Der Position Tower ist das erste Zubehör, das ich mir für meine Carrera Grundpackung gekauft habe. Der Einbau erfolgt problemlos über die mitgelieferte Schiene (entspricht der Länge einer Standardgeraden) und der Tower wird einfach über Kabel mit der Schiene verbunden. Das Display ist gut leserlich und zeigt die jeweilige Position der Fahrzeuge an. Hat man also drei Fahrzeige, wird am Tower 1, 2 und 3 angezeigt. Führt Fahrzeug 3, so steht eben die 3 ganz oben. Zudem wird die Rundenzahl des führenden Autos angezeigt. Mehr Informationen gibt der Tower nicht her. Das wird aber auch nicht versprochen.... Nun zum Grund der Abwertung: Es wird nicht angezeigt, wie viel Runden die anderen Fahrzeuge zurückliegen. Damit ist kaum mehr ein spannendes Rennen möglich. Wenn ich z.B. an zweiter Stelle liege, versuche ich natürlich den Führenden einzuholen. Allerdings habe ich keine Informationen, ob ich bereits überrundet wurde oder wie viele Runden eigentlich mein Rückstand beträgt. Das fehlt mir bei diesem Produkt einfach. Mittlerweile habe ich mir den Bluetooth Adapter von Carrera gekauft und die Bahn mit einem Tablet gekoppelt. Dazu noch eine passende Renn-App und das Problem der Rundenzeiten und Rundenanzahl ist sauber und übersichtlich gelöst. Wenn man schon ein Tablet besitzt, ist diese Lösung sogar noch günstiger als der Position Tower. Und das bei deutlich mehr Informationen und Spielspaß.

Kundenverachtend billig gemacht

Dieser "Position Tower" ist: Kundenverachtung. Anders kann man das nicht interpretieren. Er ist so rudimentär gemacht wie es nur irgendwie geht - und das für diesen Preis! Dabei würde es weder nennenswerte Cent-Beträge noch Hirnleistung kosten, einen Rundenzähler zu bauen, mit dem man auch etwas anfangen kann: der vor allem mal für jedes Fahrzeug anzeigt, wie viele Runden es gefahren ist. So weiß man überhaupt nicht, wie viel man zurückliegt. > Und auch eine Zeitangabe - irgendwie doch normalerweise die Maßeinheit bei Rennen - wäre billigst in eine solche Anzeige zu integrieren. Aber auch andere Teile von Carrera, etwa die Handregler, sind so billig gemacht, dass man sich einfach nur verschaukelt fühlt. Wie kann man Kunden, Fans oder solche, die es werden wollen, nur so liederlich behandeln? Nein, das ist inakzeptabel - wir haben das Teil zurückgegeben, weil es bei jedem Rennen ein Ärgernis war.

irgendwie ein wenig Überflüssig

Ich erachte diesen Artikel tatsächlich als überflüssig, da man ja in der Regel ein Tablet per bluetooth oder PC per Kabel mit der Control Unit verbindet. Dort werden alle Zeiten und Positionen angezeigt, und auch per Sprachausgabe darüber informiert, wer in Führung liegt. Man hat im Rennen eh keine Zeit, auf den Tower zu achten. Es ist hartes Plastik mit einer simplen Digitalanzeige für 50€. Ein gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist das auch nicht unbedingt. Er fällt außerdem leicht um. Dieser Tower eignet sich meines Erachtens nur für große, professionelle Bahnen.

Preis/Leistung unzureichend

Ich hatte mir für den Preis von dem Tower mehr erhoff. Man kann wirklich nur die Runde und die Position des Autos ablesen. Man weiß allerdings nicht wie viel Runden man zurück liegt. Habe jetzt den Bluetooth-Adapter bestellt und mit der SmartRace-App auf dem Tablet verbunden. Jetzt macht Rennen Spaß... Für 15€ kann man den Tower als nice-to-have hinstellen, aber nicht für über 50€.

It does what it promises, but could offer more functionality

I dont have anything negative to say except that this product doesnt actually do that much.. It only shows the number of laps made by leading car and then the order of the following cars (but not how much behind they are). Few things that we ended up missing are: lap times and how much (how many laps) behind are other drivers. Also it would be nice to be able to pre-set the length of the race and have the display count down to last lap. Also since the cars are identified by their controller numbers it took some time to learn which car matches which number on the display. And if you switch cars (but keep the same controllers) you have to do the mental excersice again. So the product works as intended but adding features could make it much more useful and fun.
