Extra Test Tubes are great to have

My son accidentally broke two of the glass test tubes that came with the ammonia and pH test kits. Just when I needed it most, I had nothing. The pandemic made it worse, where Petco and PetSmart were always out of stock. So, I made sure that I ordered a set of 24 in case of more accidents. The glass is not that thick but sheer so that you can make a good color reading which is important. I'm skeptical about using the plastic bottles because I'm not sure how clear they would be to make a good reading. Plus, I prefer glass for the share visibility. I wish the glass was more durable though, because the cleanup SAR another issue, tiny glass pieces can be missed and end up in your Barefoot. Ouch! Overall: good for sheer visibility color check. Value: could be cheaper as glass always needs to be replaced when broken.

Genuine API tubes with caps

I have 3 test tube holders so I can hold 24 tubes. Sucks to have to wash tubes during a session of multi-tank testing. Do all the testing, was all the tubes. Easy.

Exact same test tubes that come with API test kits

I dropped all of my test tubes and they shattered, I bought this as a replacement, they are the EXACT same tubes (with 5 mL mark) that come with all API test kits, caps included

The right but pricey, leaky tubes for your water testing kits

Sad these are offered in such a large quantity but luckily I have lots of tests to do. At $0.50 a pop, not exactly cheap but the best price per unit i can find. They leak when shaken, a common thing for water tests. Not good when shaking corrosive chemicals. They do break as they're small and glass, but not entirely frail like grandmas fine wine glasses. The caps pair nicely (minus the leaking) and the tubes can be stood up on their ends. These are OEM, come with the 5mL markings, caps, and everything, but are a bit pricey. Also they leak. Honestly a big turnoff for API tubes.

glad to have this kit

The API freshwater testing kit is wonderful. It is just the tubes tend to break if your are not careful. One broke one my son and one on me. Thus I ordered more test tubes. So far these seem to be working out great. The 5 ml marking is nice to have on the tube. Noticed some of the tubes sit a little snug in the API test kit area that the tubes are stored in vertically. Overall nice to have spares on hand.

fantastic

after trying to take the cap off a test tube and taking most of the tube with it a got this replacement pack and it’s absolutely fab. the caps aren’t as tight (but still a perfect seal) so i’m not as worried about them breaking the test tubes as i try to get them open.

Great find

Am extremely accident-prone, so am forever dropping and mashing these test tubes. The 24-pack is a great find, will hopefully last for a while.

They are what they are, but they arrived on ...

They are what they are, but they arrived on time (as they said), neatly packed with all intact. Going to make testing 5 tanks a whole lot easier from now for sure, with plenty to spare. Being glass should last longer than plastic tubes (which get scratched) & certainly easier to clean than plastic tubes (which in the past have also stained).
