Much preferred over diaper genie

The diaper genie is a pain in the rear. Swapped it out for this and our quality of life has improved tremendously. We have two: one for cloth diapers and one for trash (wipes). Works great for both. We use the disposable bags (same brand) for trash and those are wonderful as well. The Nora’s diaper bags for our disposables also fit perfectly. Highly recommend.

Pros & Cons A must read

I purchased this Ubbi pail for cat litter waste and here is the results. Pros :The pail is thin and compact and holds a lot of waste. Pretty color and looks nice. Uses regular bags and easy to operate. Lid opening is small which is better to not release a huge amount of stink. It’s almost hard to break the only thing you have to worry about is dings and rust. Being metal it doesn’t absorb stink like plastic can. Cons: You will get a small bit of stink when lid is open while that is common, it says to only use a rag to clean it and after you can still smell stink. So rather hard to clean to get smell off of it. If I’m just using a rag how is that going to clean it ?It can rust. If any contents you put inside are damp it will rust, you need damp rid or silica gel packs inside to absorb any moisture! The opening is small, while it’s great stink wise , it could be a litter bigger to accommodate adult diapers or other uses as for pets. I had to get a skimmer for a pet scoop something small enough to fit. The slide door under can get dirty & hard to clean. Overall it’s good. Definitely not perfect and far from it . It does require maintenance so it’s not maintenance free.I chose this one before the pet version because the pet version while it has a bigger opening it Doesn’t have the slide opening like this one.I use a magnetic hook with a opening teabag ball filled with silica packets to absorb moisture. I also hang a car air freshener inside .But overall I give it a 4. It could last years if you care for it weekly.

Got rid of diaper genie

I had been given a diaper genie from a friend. Within 1 week of bringing home baby, my husband insisted the diaper genie was broken and asked me to get something different. The issue with the genie were numerous but the main was the genie was wobbly when trying to pull the bags out, and the bags often tore when replacing. This has solved both problems! Because it’s metal and heavier than the plastic genie, it is sturdier. Additionally, because you can use regular trash bags, we haven’t had any issues with the bags tearing. This is one of my favorite aspects bc it’s 1 less thing to purchase. The capacity also appears to be slightly more. Overall the capacity of diapers on both is somewhat disappointing, as we have to empty it 2-3x a week, and only do about half the diaper changes in the nursery. Although I get the impression we may be going through more diapers on a daily basis than average. I would mention that we have nearly overstuffed it a few times, and I’ve been nervous about ripping the bag. However, if it’s over stuffed, I’ll just tie the bag, and the reach down between can and bag and move some of the diapers up. (The bags we use are always larger than the can since we use the same ones I buy for our kitchen trash.) I have also been very impressed with the smell. We didn’t have the diaper genie long enough for me to comment on smell but I noticed the other day how well this works to keep the smell in, when I opened it to put in a dirty diaper and was overwhelmed by the stink inside! When properly closed you don’t smell anything! However, you will be subject to that stink when changing out the bags. Lastly, I love that it came in colors. The safe green looks adorable in the woodland themed nursery. Being able to get a color was basically just a bonus that put this diaper bin over the top. Would buy again and recommend to friends.

Hopefully it goes well!

I am currently 5 months pregnant so I’m not completely sure how this will work for us. I wished it was a little larger but who knows it could be perfect. The color (marble) is stunning and elegant. The products itself seems overall very well made and sturdy. It’s very convenient that it doesn’t take any special bags, regular home trash bags seem to fit perfectly. The ordering was extremely easy and the delivery was right on time. Fingers crossed it’s the perfect one for us

Sent out wrong colour. Plus update.

Ordered this pail because it had azing reviews and so does the seller. Received my order today and instead of the sage green one I ordered, a happy little yellow arrived. Nothing against the gorgeous sunshine yellow that would bring happiness and joy on grey days, but I really wanted the sage green because it matched my shades of blue/green theme of my home. Other wise a great pail from what I can see. I honestly don't like the big white stripe with Pantone in bold black. It's kind of garish to me personally. Sent the pail back and got the green one I ordered very expediently. Trouble with the NEW pail is the slide door has issues with the lock. It doesn't seem to want to stay in place so I foresee this being an issue with my children pretending to be DJ Clothbottom McStinky

Great product! Different green than expected though.

The picture depicted is a light green. It is a very dark green in reality! So if you're married to the color don't buy this BUT this thing is AMAZING. It does a great job with odor! I love not having to buy expensive and specific diaper fill bags.

Locks in odour. Only thing to note is it needs to be emptied every day or so as it fills up quickly.

Best diaper pail

I did a lot of research before buying a diaper pail for my first child and this one can't be beat! Unlike the Diaper Genie that you see most people using, this one does not require special bags that you have to pay an arm and a leg for. You can use your own garbage bags which means you end up saving a lot of money this way. It also does a really great job containing odors. Plus it looks cute! 10/10

Good odour seal, approved

Been using this pail for 3 months so far. The pail seems to contain the odours extremely well. We haven't compared it to other diaper pails, but this one seems very good. I wish the bottom had some kind of rubber pads to stick to hardwood floor instead of moving around when you try to open the hatch with one hand while holding a squirming child with the other.

I bought this as my geenie was starting to stink up the home

I purchased this unit and paid a lot for it in an effort to reduce the smell. After a week and after using scented bags inside it, this is worse off than very cheap diaper geenies of the same size. I do not recommend this unit if you want odour control. It looks nice however

Easy to use

I’ve purchased ubbi in the past and it lasted me 3 years before the handle started to break. I got 2 more and I love them. Best diaper pail for my family. Long lasting and I love that I can use reg garbage bags in them! Thanks UBBI!
