Mirror Finish Melted in the Heat
Lasted two years, and in the third year the mirror finish melted in the heat, causing a distorted reflection.

Works for us
We have a rear lot, and our driveway has a nearly 90 degree turn in it, creating a blind spot. To be safe, we decided to install a mirror at that point. This product was priced well and offered in 18 inches, which was just right for our purposes. We’ve had it up for 4+ months now, including some extreme weather and it’s worked just fine. The quality of the install you do though probably affects your results. One negative — while it came with the bracket that attaches the mirror itself to your mounting point, it doesn’t come with screws or bolts to actually attach the bracket to that mounting point (I.e., a post or whatever). I’m sure the company is thinking there are so many ways to mount this thing that we should let people get their own screws, which may be true, but nonetheless it’s a hassle to have to go to a hardware store to find and select the optimal screws/bolts to fit the provided bracket.

Convex outdoor security mirror is a reassuring addition to our landscaping
We live in the mountains and our 1/4-mile-long driveway is steep and winding with visibility blocked by heavy rhododendrons and trees. One of the sharpest curves is also at one of the steepest areas and we've come to realize that it's an accident just waiting to happen. While there's not heavy traffic on our driveway, there have been a couple of instances when "perfect timing" resulted in near collisions -- the most recent being me driving up and meeting a UPS truck barreling down the driveway. We met unexpectedly on this sharp curve and skidded to a stop only inches apart. I did an Amazon search for convex security mirrors and placed an order that same day. We decided to go with the 18-inch version of this mirror. For the first couple of weeks, I sort of wished that I'd ordered the next size up. Because the mirror is in a heavily wooded area, I felt that it wasn't as visible on overcast days. We're still happy with it, though. It's working well for us now and both the UPS man and our mail carrier have thanked us for installing it. The mirror arrives well packaged with the support bracket attached upside down (for easier packaging). It's very easy to install. Just detach the support bracket and reattach it as shown on the instruction sheet. The mirror and bracket come with two long screws for attaching to a fixed location such as a building, fence, etc. For our purposes, we attached the mirror's bracket to the upper part of a post on our split rail fence that borders our driveway. I've included a couple of pics of the mirror -- one showing its placement at the top of a fence post and the second pic showing the bracket installation (with one screw still only halfway in). One important part of installation is figuring out the degree of upward/downward and side-to-side tilt that gives you the most benefit from the mirror. This only took us a few minutes to determine exact placement and then the simple installation only took a few minutes more (we did pre-drill holes into the fence post for the long screws).

Perfect for hidden driveway
This mirror is a lifesaver. No more wishing and hoping, I know if there is a car coming. Just replaced the old one, it lasted 10 years.

This product is not hold up outside.
Really liked the mirror. It worked well for what we needed it for. But it did not hold up overtime after 3 1/2 years we found it laying on the ground. Apparently it has a cardboard backing underneath with a thin cloth like material covering it. The shame is the mirror part still looks really good, but the back fell apart.

Just what I needed!
There is a blind area outside my house that I could not see from any window or door. When a car came down my driveway and parked in front of my garage, I was totally unable to look outside and see it or its occupants. We ordered this convex mirror after searching many websites trying to determine exactly what would meet our needs. The seeall.com site was very helpful in describing their various convex mirrors, uses of each one, and mounting instructions. The model we chose PLXO 18 has an ABS backing that is perfect for outdoor use. We decided against the more expensive stainless steel backing, and it appears the ABS heavy-duty plastic will be quite durable. We also decided against a glass mirror in favor of the acrylic. The image shown in the acrylic mirror is just fine. The 18" diameter we chose reveals 18' of viewing area (1"=1' viewing area) and that covers the entire front of my house which was totally 'blind' to me before. It is mounted high on my house outside my window and due to its pivotal (swivel) bracket design, we were able to angle it exactly where it was needed. It has been 1 month since we installed it, and I am very happy with this purchase, and look forward to years of service from it.

Five years in mountain weather and not a single complaint
Montana's semi-arid mountains and valleys are subject to temps from well-below Zero to the three-digit range. While mounted outside, this 18" Heavy-Duty Outdoor Convex Security Mirror has shined through twenty seasons of the mountains' direct sunlight and high winds, has run the gamut from heavy rain to sleet to hail to snow and ice, and has always performed above expectations. We plan to purchase a second mirror one size smaller this fall and allow the original to gracefully retire.
